Nothing like an early morning rewatch.

First thing that jumps off the page, Andrej is the key to this thing. If he’s getting downhill, it opens everything else up.

He was the difference on both ends honestly. We went down 10, he came in, we recovered. I’m not sure what was wrong with Boswell but he was not locked in.

I agree. In a way it’s more enjoyable and gratifying watching this group get the absolute most out of themselves.

I think 2005 it was more of a relief to make the FF given that they’d only lost 1 game all year. All the pressure of expectations was on that team.

The games this team wins its more joyful and fun. It’s easier to enjoy as a fan.
I would agree in a way. This team wasn't necessarily expected to make the Final Four but everyone was also saying they had the potential to do such a thing. 2005 definitely had a lot more pressure because of how great that team was(kind of like Arizona this year). It would've been a gigantic disappointment if the 2005 team didn't get there. But, I think last night's game against that opponent was also a pressure cooker situation b/c of the history of Iowa as a conference rival. Maybe it's not to the level of Bears-Packers but there is a lot of history there with Iowa and so I believe Illini Nation would've been disappointed if Iowa as a much lower seed would have somehow won the game. I think in basketball, Illinois has 3 big rivalries dating back to at least the 80s(Indiana, Michigan, and Iowa). So, losing to any of those three for a chance to go to a Final Four would be a bit devastating. Glad that didn't happen here

How many spots did u sit in during the game. I started in recliner. Moved to love seat after poor start. Then to the couch. Then the kitchen. Then the back porch to listen on radio. Then back to living room and laying on the floor. I might have a disorder. Lol.
Spent most of the day outside trying to keep busy until game time. Decided to not take a shower before the game. With the 1st half going the way it did, I got up off the couch at halftime, took a shower, changed into my Kofi T shirt, illini sweats, my Chief Illiniwek sweatshirt, and watched the 2nd half. Pretty sure I am the reason for the win. At least thats what Im telling myself. Im still freaking pumped this morning!

Wish dad was here to see it.

Love all you guys!

ILL!

Ha! It’s not just you. I was at my brother in law’s house so I didn’t have my usual “spot.” I tried multiple locations that didn’t work out and then was standing in one spot watching the game. That was when we took the lead and never looked back. I didn’t move.

Woke up and the first thing that occurred to me was how wonderful it is that Ty is a part of this. When I saw the team play this season I watched him in the floor during warmups and in the bench during games. He was so engaged and supportive, chasing balls and always involved in coaching his teammates. He’s Illini to the core.

Then I picked up my phone and saw the photo of him with CoHawk and AJ. Thought of Trent and Damonte, Ayo and Kofi. All the guys since Brad took the reins who brought the program to this Sunday morning. No tears in my eyes last night. But there are now.

Gratitude, man. Thank you all. We truly love no other.

Nice win and Illini crowd was great!
Watching in person it felt like Illini had 2 different teams, offense and defence like in football.
Defense only: Kylan (2 shot attemps), Jake Davis (1 shot attemp), Ben (2 shots attempted) and all of them combine scored zero for attempts.

Drey, Mirk, Tomi and Keaton were driving the offense.

The national media attention he's gonna be dealing with is insane but I can't think of anyone whose personality is better suited for it 😂
Agreed
Our recent FF teams are all media darlings with staying power to be rememebred beyond Illlini Nation: 89 Flying Illini, 05 Dee-Deron-Luther-Augie-Roger, 26 Balkan-ic Boys

Whole team will get plenty of well deserved attention. Good for them.

April Illini basketball has a good ring to it! What a special team. No matter what happens next week, this team has a special place in the rafters.

OK, who’s the real MVP of this Final Four Illini team? You can make a case for a couple different guys. But I’ll tell you who’s the real MVP of this year’s Illini – no doubt whatsoever...

ALL THE GUYS WHO PUT THIS TEAM TOGETHER.

And thank God and the Airlines for Frequent Flier Miles...

I need somebody to tell me what hat Coleman has on. Is it a Jordan Flight hat? A rope hat from the Game?
Its from the Flyin' Illini Patch collection on the NIL Store:
