St Louis Cardinals 2026

Outfielder Lars Nootbaar will officially begin his rehab assignment Friday with Low-A Palm Beach, making his season debut..............
I like Noot, he seems to be a good guy and a good teammate. Having said that 2026 needs to be the year he proves he's anything more than a 4th OF/platoon player. He's also had trouble staying off the injured list. Not Tyler O'Neill level trouble but definitely injury prone.

He routinely calls in to this morning show in StL and is always entertaining. Definitely an EDG...

I like this years team.

We got an all star in Wetherholt

Walker is finally showing he can be a 30 HR 110 RBI cleanup hitter.

Really need to get two league average players for CF and LF. Church is improving. Scott just cant hit 184

How about bring Koperniak up - he is hitting .292

He has had a lot of opportunity to shed that 4th outfielder tag ( and staying healthy is part of the job resume). There has never been enough pop in the bat for a corner outfielder.

I've really been impressed by Walker's defense this year compared to previous years,,,,,has a cannon of an arm and been accurate with his throws............

Agreed, esp. the thought about Walker. This may surprise people, but Walker reminds me of Hank Aaron at the plate--that sleepy appearance just before the pitch comes. Of course he'll never be Aaron (who would?) but he's become a truly dangerous threat. Every team needs a top gun to win. I see he is now batting above .300 (.303) which in modern baseball is truly remarkable. He's also got 13 homers and 34 rbi, ops at .960.

Whew! That was close. Nice to get one of those scratch and claw wins at home. Keep it going!

Yes. He also knows how to hit cut-off men when needed.

Did they ever say who the shirtless kids were? Looked like a huge group of high schoolers. Give them tickets for some more games!

next 2 games are matinee start times of 1:15 pm.....hope bad weather stays away.............LET'S GO CARDINALS !!!!!!.............

8 games over .500..........................trading away veterans sometimes allows new leadership to emerge...I just hope Jordan Walker continues his great play and leads this season's scrappy bunch of youngsters to unexpected levels of achievement....it's been a fun season so far.....it really really has................

Couple of notes:

-Oli has bought out the remaining tickets in the Tarps Off section for today's and tomorrow's games and made them available free to fans.
-Today's game delayed to start due to rain expected imminently at the ballpark. No new start time has yet been announced.

A couple of interesting comments on the ESPN summary from yesterday's game.

St. Louis got its fourth walk-off win of the season, two shy of the Cardinals’ total last year.

Oliver Marmol got his 351st win as Cardinals manager, tying Hall of Famer Joe Torre for ninth in club history.

I didn't realize Oli had been around long enough to be this high on the list.
Technically he is tied for 10th not 9th. It depends on whether or not you include Charles Comiskey 852 (1883, 1884–1889,1891) They didn't join the NL until 1892. You decide.

fun at the ole ballpark.......Cardinals score 2 runs to take a 3-1 lead going into the top of 6th in front of a boisterous bunch of shirtless waving World Cup type crowd.....I like it , I really really do............

THAT'S A WINNER !!!!!!!!!!!...............

Cardinals win the second game of this series 4-2 and go for the sweep tomorrow @ 1:15 pm.............

Soriano get's the save with a game ending DP groundout after some minor anxious moments..............
Leahy gets the win and finishes 6 IP as a starter for the first time......
Burleson with 2 RBI's................

9 games over .500 for the 1st time this year......I am really really enjoying the performance of this squad this year as most pundits gave us little chance of fielding a competitive team and we are really really competing at a high level...........

Burleson and Walker have over 60 RBI's combined and our defense has played great too.......the pitching has been a big surprise as the starters are getting Quality starts and the BP is usually holding leads to get to our elite closer Riley O'Brien..............
