Outsider perspective, pretty good in-game coach, does not have the staff that ILL baseball should imo. Bullpen is a trainwreck year in and year out.

That does not exactly mean that you are retaining the in-state talent.

You can have an entire roster from the state of Illinois and still not be locking down the high end talent, which is what the poster is alluding to.

Hard to explain. If you aren’t in his very inner circle he can be cold and standoffish. In relation to coaching baseball he isn’t the most enthusiastic or go getter in recruiting( Snider and Drew covered up a lot of that when they were here).
