Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread

Forget Adam Miller (COMPLETELY!). I'm expecting QC to have a better freshman year than Keaton Wagler!
That is a ridiculous expectation to set. Our program has brought in players with more hype than Quentin who made a small fraction of the impact that Keaton made during their freshman seasons. Heck, Kiwane Garris had one of the best frosh seasons I can remember before that, and as incredible as Kiwane played for us, his freshman season didn't come close to what Keaton brought to the table last year. Keaton is a once in a generation type of player who had a once in a generation-type of season to lead us to the final four for the first time in 20 years. If QC has 60% of the impact Keaton had, he will have had a wildly successful campaign in Orange and Blue.

Davion Thompson was tearing it up for Meanstreets before USA basketball tryouts. Are we (still) recruiting him?

I'm not suggesting he will be a stopper, but if guys are loafing or not bought in, he will at least show them how to give a sh... and Brad won't hesitate to use him.

Jake's defensive plus/minus was the same as Boswell and Tomi's last year... (3.1) Certainly not an ace, but not the sieve some are making him out to be.

Is Coleman really that good or did he get the Champaign bump? /s
Not fully directed at your post, but I really don't get why it would be a good thing to claim this. It literally translates to "I don't think he's that good, but his ranking rise is due to committing to Illinois rather than Wake Forrest."

Every stage he's played on over the past year, he's produced. Had 50 in the state championship, put up 33&12 in the Iverson Classic, was the second best player on the team that won the 17U peach jam last summer... add in his HS team was top 5 in nation.

The reason he was lower in the rankings when he committed (here) is because they hadn't updated in months. The summer is when the services release their final big board.

It was the running joke of illini recruits were always underrated or dropped in rankings after committing and Duke (Blue Blood) recruits always went up after committing.
