I think his back is more cooked than they're letting on. Approaching 2 full seasons of PAs at well below league average batting line - he's definitely getting non-tendered this off season.

Can only hope Gorman is next....last 50 at bats he has 3 hits and 23 strikeouts

A plane on its way to pick up Yadi and his family crashed. The two pilots were killed. Very sad.

Gorman had a very good second season with close to 30 hr and an 805 OPS. The pitchers adjusted, and he has either been incapable or unwilling to adjust back. I lean towards incapable. Can't hit hard stuff above his hands and doesn't have good enough pitch recognition to lay off the breaking/off speed stuff down and away. May not be in StL much longer, he's had plenty of opportunity.

Gorman statedin the past off season he readjusted his stance and placement level of his hands before swinging......I think he needs a thorough vision exam as he is not reading spins on the baseball at all.......he has had a long runway of 4 seasons and I expect him to be moved in the off season if his production stays where it is now........

Cardinals start the road trip in fine fashion beating the Mets 7-0 extending their winning streak to 5 games.............

Dustin May with a Quality Start going 6 IP , 4 H , 1 W , 6 K's for his first win in a long time.....
Bruihl is now a jewel , 2 IP , 1 H , 2 K's......
Svanson 1 IP , 1 K.................

Herrera on base 5 times going 3-3 , 3R , .............
Burleson 2-5 , 1 R , 3 RBI's , 1 HR.........
Church 3-4 , 1 R ..............Nice basket catch on a wind swirling flyball............

8 games over .500 and solidly in 2nd place in NL Central Division and 1st WC spot.......refreshing to say the least..it really really is....

Don't know if anyone else caught during the later innings that the Mets reliever Joey Gerber was a former Illini pitcher. I know some of the posters on here follow Illini baseball a little bit more closely so I'd be curious as to whether he had that high leg kick when he was in Chambana.

It’s a good thing we aren’t running the club because we all would have demoted or cut Stanek earlier this season!
