Gorman had a very good second season with close to 30 hr and an 805 OPS. The pitchers adjusted, and he has either been incapable or unwilling to adjust back. I lean towards incapable. Can't hit hard stuff above his hands and doesn't have good enough pitch recognition to lay off the breaking/off speed stuff down and away. May not be in StL much longer, he's had plenty of opportunity.

Gorman statedin the past off season he readjusted his stance and placement level of his hands before swinging......I think he needs a thorough vision exam as he is not reading spins on the baseball at all.......he has had a long runway of 4 seasons and I expect him to be moved in the off season if his production stays where it is now........

Church 3-4 , 1 R ..............Nice basket catch on a wind swirling flyball............
8 games over .500 and solidly in 2nd place in NL Central Division and 1st WC spot.......refreshing to say the least..it really really is....

Don't know if anyone else caught during the later innings that the Mets reliever Joey Gerber was a former Illini pitcher. I know some of the posters on here follow Illini baseball a little bit more closely so I'd be curious as to whether he had that high leg kick when he was in Chambana.

Thought I would share this. I was scrolling through YouTube and came across a video titled The Life and Death of Darryl Kile. It was made in 2012, 10 years after his death. It was sad, but it was quite interesting.
His dad died at an early age of a heart attack. Why didn’t they examine him closer? He had 2 arteries blocked at 95% and died of a heart attack.
His anniversary is coming up and thought you might be interested in watching. They talked about what happened that day. Showed Joe Girardi’s message to the crowd. Plus, I forgot, Jack Buck had just passed away a few days earlier.

My wife and I were sitting in a restaurant at a mall in St Louis. The tv was on the Saturday game of the week. There was no sound so we didn't know why they were showing the Dodgers game. At first we thought it was raining in Chicago. The people on the tv didn't make sense for a rain delay. When they told us everyone in the place was stunned. We've never been back to that chain restaurant since.
