Only two AL teams have lost fewer games than the Sox to this point – Tampa and New York.

At the 81 Game Mark the Sox are 43-38. At the 81 Game Mark last year the Sox were 26-55. And astounding 17 Game improvement to this point.

Any question who the Manager of the Year is?

This club will go as far as Sox pitching can take them. The on-field guys are solid and getting better every day.

Unless it’s purely a cash dump, I wouldn’t trade anything of value this year. If you want to get a decent bullpen pieces for cheap, fine.

Great first half but reality is we’re gonna need another 5-7 of these prospects to end up playing a role in this upcoming window. Not everyone playing well right now will ultimately end up in the longer lineups.

Even if they end up missing the playoffs, this year is already gonna have these guys playing meaningful August/September playoff pennant race baseball to build into the future.

I would think the Sox might look at guys on expiring contracts that their current teams would trade for anything they can get, rather than get nothing at the end of the year. I don't follow this anywhere near close enough to suggest who those folks might be.
So it's kindof like waiting to see what might fall into their lap, so to speak.
They are certainly not in a "win now or never" situation.
But I think the Sox' chances to make the playoffs are now very high, and even to win a series or two.

I also think internally they probably view Teel coming back this week and Murakami in 1-3 weeks as two big upgrades To the past months roster.

For what they are doing, I also just don’t see too many difference makers in the grand scheme of things. They aren’t going to be in the Skubal sweepstakes…and even if they had him, they still aren’t close to the top team this year.

The biggest story in baseball is how God awful the American League is. The Central is average to awful from top to bottom, but they're benefitting from some severely under performing teams.

We need to be clear eyed about the Sox. They are having a nice year coming off of multiple 100 loss seasons. Per their record, they're a slightly above average team, playing in the worst division on baseball in a really, really bad American League. What are they, 4 over .500? They just got off of a terrible road trip(1-5?) where they got swept by Detroit, then got to come home and play a triple A Royals team. The Sox need to continue to focus on development and getting guys through a full season. The dog days of August is where that rotation is going to falter. Now, is Cleveland good enough to take advantage? Will Seattle, Toronto, Texas, etc play to the level of their payroll? Will the Sox continue to win in the craziest of ways? I think the GM is smart enough to know that they are walking a very fine line. If they're in pretty much any other division, they're selling. If it were me, the fans might not like it, but I'm selling Davis for as many top prospects as possible. He's not going to be around when/if the Sox become true contenders. Keep stocking the farm system. With the top pick in the draft and some trade capital.....they're in a pretty decent spot right before a strike.

As a fanbase, they still don't draw well and I hope that those that are on the ledge don't jump off because water, across the league, starts seeking it's own level.

Give it time. Sox fans are clearly responding and coming back to the park. Sox fans are always out there but wont show until there’s a good product to watch on the field like there is now starting to show.

And there remains a large segment of Sox fans who don’t like and haven’t liked the current ownership of the White Sox. If and when the current regime sells the team to the new owners-in-waiting you will see an explosion of interest in the Sox as hasn’t been seen for years. Along with a sexy new ballpark.

Fans do need to be patient with the on-field club as they are still a work in progress and need some upgrades.

Glad to see him on his way back. But did we all notice how well the Sox hung in there and stayed at or near the top the whole time Our Slugger was gone? This shows the Sox have a great foundation that does not rely on just one player. You do not want to ever rely on any one single player to have success.

It's going to be great to see all these future baseballs launched into Space by our Great Slugger when he returns. Wish the Sox would get this guy locked in for more years to come.

Minnesota and Detroit have slowly climbed their way back up into contention in the AL Central. Going to be wild second half of the season with lots of intense divisional games.

What a great two days for the Sox! Last night Peters hit for the cycle (the 7th player in Sox history) and beat the A’s 14-1 in a really exciting game. Then today they topped it off, beating the A’s again 1-0 in a defensive gem, picking Roch Chowlosky #1 and then picking Jim Thome’s son, Landon, in the MLB Draft! Go, Go, White Sox!!!

After laying an egg against the lowly Red Sox, nice bounce back against the A's. 9-1 today for the sweep. Gave up 2 runs in 3 games.

With the AL Central race now being a four-team race... and with the current Playoff qualifier rules in place in MLB... this is setting up to be one of the best second-half’s of the season maybe ever.

So many team are in it. So many have a chance. What gives baseball its spice is when the games mean something. And now many more games will actually mean something in the second half that used to just be games on the schedule to be completed. Many of these games will have a playoff atmosphere before we even get to the Playoffs themselves.

And with all the young talent now on the South Side... this is the brightest things have looked for a long time.

A great Second Half? In the words of a former famous Sox announcer...

“It MIGHT be! It COULD be... IT IS!!”

Sox currently have the second most runs scored in the AL (4 behind the... TWINS!), and
the second best run differential in the AL.

It does not look like the Sox will compete for the #1 draft pick this year.
