I would think the Sox might look at guys on expiring contracts that their current teams would trade for anything they can get, rather than get nothing at the end of the year. I don't follow this anywhere near close enough to suggest who those folks might be.
So it's kindof like waiting to see what might fall into their lap, so to speak.
They are certainly not in a "win now or never" situation.
But I think the Sox' chances to make the playoffs are now very high, and even to win a series or two.

I also think internally they probably view Teel coming back this week and Murakami in 1-3 weeks as two big upgrades To the past months roster.

For what they are doing, I also just don’t see too many difference makers in the grand scheme of things. They aren’t going to be in the Skubal sweepstakes…and even if they had him, they still aren’t close to the top team this year.
