Noot is a decent player. Not a star but a good guy to have on your roster. He's also in his 5th yr, has trouble staying healthy. No, I would not give him away but if a good return could be had I'd do the deal. He's not going to get any better at this point.

Herrera I'd be more reluctant to move since he has more team control. He needs to DH exclusively. If another DH type comes along that's better then by all means he can go in a deal. O'Brien I'd trade if any real interest pops up.

walks , walks , walks..................another Quality Start for Leahy , another lack of run support game........excellent defense by the Cardinals but a BP walk-a-thon and a clutch base hit by the BJ's spoils opening game of road trip.......look out Reds , the Cardinals free fall heading your way...............lol..................

10. Seattle Mariners trade Emerson Hancock to St. Louis Cardinals

The Mariners have six starters, with Kade Anderson more than ready for a big league call-up, so it's likely they trade one of them, and Hancock's name has popped up most often. That's in part because he has arguably been their best starter, but also because Luis Castillo's contract will make him difficult to trade and George Kirby's mediocre season has decreased his trade value.

Hancock is under team control through 2030 and the Mariners will likely want a major league bat in return. Ivan Herrera is a possible match here if the Mariners see value in a full-time DH (they should) and occasional backup catcher. The Cardinals have plenty of catching depth but need pitching help. These two teams made the Brendan Donovan trade this past offseason, so they've worked together before -- and this trade would help both in the present and beyond.

1 run on 5 hits. Pretty much the story of the 2nd half so far. Lot of winnable games flushed down the drain for lack of run support.
I would play Torres over Church every day .....at least he makes contact.......

Walker reverting back to bad habits after Derby win....

trading Herrera would be trading from a strength or surplus , BUT , is the Cardinals offense strong enough to move him now ???.......I would think Pages will be moved but won't get much in return .......Herrera needs to stop catching as he can't throw well enough , he's like zero for 53 right now .......JMHO...............
if you cant play herrera at first or third and he's not DH'ing, you have to trade burleson and make room for him.

i want to see what Leo Bernal in STL this summer/fall looks like. switch hitting catcher who has been successful at every level.
Memphis 2026 numbers .278/.851 ops works for me. not sure why Crooks went up first.

Blast from the past...noticed that Harrison Bader, now of the Giants, has had his pay suspended after crashing in a scooter. He was already on the 10 day IL. He's with his 7th MLB team...including 6 in the last 4 years. Forgot he spent 6 years with the Redbirds.

Quinn the Eskimo with 5 innings/2 ER. Pretty decent debut. Too bad he didn't throw a 9 inning shutout. We could have won.

The Dodgers get 2 months of Skubal plus the post season in exchange for a high rated prospect. Then Skubal hits FA and all bets are off. LA has a better chance of retaining him since they seem to have an unlimited budget but there will be plenty of offers for him to sort through.

Read a report yesterday even before the trade saying Skubal’s first preference this offseason was signing with LA. And I see he’s from California too.

I’d be kinda surprised if that isn’t a wink / wink sorta deal. But with the lockout looming who knows.

Given it’s technically a rental, I’d say Detroit did well
