I'm grasping at straws here looking for anything that will help convince me this is not very bad...all I can come up with is:
-maybe we get a year 3 Mirk now.
-I suppose I love my family and Illinois BB is not everything.
I love my family too, but Illinois BB is everything to my sons and myself. I'm in shock right now...Not Mirk!

I know this board will be all doom and gloom but someone said rather it happen now than when the season started. Getting back into game shape will be key but he already has an on court chemistry with everyone but 2-3 people expected to be in the rotation by that time. The graphic released makes it seem like he's on his deathbed so I'll take 4-5 months I guess. This team is extremely talented to the point and we should still have a number next to our team name by the time he gets back. Will it be single digits? Who knows

We knew someone was going to get hurt in practice; it's kind of our thing.

Hopefully, this is it, and he's back in 4-6 weeks max.

EDIT: Assuming it was not that minor, and could be much longer than 4-6 weeks. Let's hope it's nothing crazy.

Don't think we see him in 2026 portion of this season
If true, and DB 11 has always been top notch insider info so obviously I will assume correct info till disproven.
1, Illini will be forced to develop a way to defend, and have inside presence of a trad "4" arguably Illinois weakest depth position of proven talent
2, Gain a valuable weapon and leader for stretch run of season.
3. 35 or so minutes a game to spread around for development in game situations. Morello, William's, Zen, Brown...opportunity knocks.
4. That thing about 5 in 5 and we are set, whelp...
Most importantly I hope for a FULL and Speedy recovery for David Mirkovic...a Great young Illini !!!
