Chicago White Sox 2026

now , finally , he is going in half with Wirtz to fix up around the UC . But it’s as if he’s purposely given up the neighborhood around the Rate because he knew that park wasnt a long term solution for them . Thats the only explanation that makes sense to me .

I think you're right. I believe he just gave up on the 35th Street neighborhood as soon as Illinois legislators gave him the new ball park so the franchise would not now be in Western Florida for the past nearly 40 years. I think he may have actually preferred going to Florida back then but his hand was forced to stay on the South Side. So instead he pouted and made sure that the neighborhood did not become inviting or developed well.

I still don't think that he was ever fully committed to seeing that the White Sox stay in Chicago. Then, or now.

The Sox now have a 4-1/2 game lead in the division on August 16th. It’s been a while since the last time we’ve seen that nice seating.

The challenge that remains is that four teams are still within 5 games of each other. One single series among any of them can drastically change all the positions.

But you have to like how the Sox are handling Detroit in Motown so far. The Tigers have been on a rise – and the Sox have gone into their den and taken care of business so far.

This Sox team is not as good as the 2005 squad (yet) – but there is a kind of 2005-vibe about these guys and how they are playing.

The World going forward will mostly know Tommy John as just the name of a baseball surgery more than they will know him as a pitcher.

But Sox fans will know that he came up during the great Sixties run when the Sox were still on that 17-year stretch of success that they had. But John had his greatest success after he left the Sox – primarily during his years with the Dodgers and Yankees.

One thing for sure. The Baseball World will never forget Tommy John because his name will certainly live on forever.

My son played for him when he managed in independent baseball in Bridgeport. Tommy John was a great guy

Big weekend sweep of the Tigers!

Sox now carry a 5.5 game lead in the Central over Detroit and 6 game leads on Cleveland and Minnesota in the middle of August.

39 games left. Still a long way to go but a postseason berth is looking very promising for our young Sox.
