In today’s game when you completely fail the offseason combined with losing really good talent you fall hard and fast.
Brutal
Brutal
Our performance against Michigan in 2022 was horrible? The worst single game performance of the Bielema era.
Two types of bad losses:
• the ones with the most heartbreak
• the worst single game performance where the team just looks awful
2022 Michigan will always be the first one.
Today was the second one.
There for both of them award, honorable mention 22 MSU and Purdue too. What I'm most frustrated about is a couple different results in 21 and 22 and we could be a playoff team and gotten early NIL investment. The worst single game performance of the Bielema era.

It's the NIL era. You can flip your program in one year. You just have to pay for it. Oh and hire coordinators that aren't retired. This is an FCS defense.A loss so catastrophically bad you fear it’s the beginning of another long dark decade-long era in hell. The worst feeling you can have as a sports fan.

Exactly my mindset. Been here too many times.A loss so catastrophically bad you fear it’s the beginning of another long dark decade-long era in hell. The worst feeling you can have as a sports fan.
For mid-tier programs like ours QB play can make or break a season. Before this year where you can put more blame on the defense, Bret's 3 winning seasons we had good QB play. The two 5-7 seasons we had bad or inconsistent QB play. A good parallel is Fran Brown at Syracuse. His first year he gets Kyle McCord who balls out and they go 10-3, but they haven't looked nearly as good since.Completely outclassed by the worst program in the Big 10. Says it all. We don’t have dudes on defense, or scheme. And offense is ok, but I do question the strategy of paying big money for the QB when the funds are limited. I think going forward, the strategy should be get a cheap home grown QB, and use the real money on the rest of the roster
Hell no.....We beat Tennessee and USC last year, this program just can't sustain success and fan momentum. Also no more focusing on "retention" when 1 maybe 2 players on defense would start for a top half B1G defense. Lunney has been diabolical on 3rd and short in fg range this year and every decision has been wrong.
Who is making a 3 hr drive for the Oregon game? I'm not
Lucky to get to 4 wins. Lucky to get any big crowds from now on. I have tickets for Iowa. Probably getting rid of them for free.
All this is on Bret and the coaching staff. Enough of the lack of NIL money excuse. It’s the lack of player development, lack of technique, questionable play calling on offense, FCS level defensive scheme, poor decisions being made on special teams and lack of execution. So many mistakes on the field.
The coaching from HC on down is such poor quality so far.
All I want is a program that consistently average 7-9 wins a year , maybe even make a playoff run in a blue moon.
I don’t see that now with this staff. 2 steps forward, 3 steps back.
Coach Underwood, please bring me off the ledge.
How much larger sample size do you need? This team did not look good at any point this season. We are who we are at this point.I want to see what happens next week at Michigan State. Right now I am trying to believe that today’s performance was related to the coaching churn this week.
Mac Resetich cannot be your punt returner. There were so many opportunities to flip the field with a good return.
It wasn't even a threat.
Yes, but today was worse, pretty undoubtedly.Lasts years games against Washington and Wisconsin definitely are in the awful category
Why is Barry Lunney the only person in the entire country that doesn't know he's going to run up the middle on 1st down and on 3rd down in 4-down situations?! I wish that was a worse problem than our non-existent defense.
