I think this misstates S&C's position. I think the point is that the commits were the reason he got a spot on the staff, which was a bad idea even assuming they had a competent degree of certainty that he assured they'd enroll, which obviously they did not have.

In times like these, I really wish S&C were here to tell us why we are all wrong.

I think S&C is a national treasure. I often disagree with him but he is someone who almost always posts something worthwhile and interesting. Board is just not the same without him. #saveS&C
