I think developing a program that the freshman generally stay through year 2 is a healthy environment in today's culture. If you haven't carved out a role after 2 years, I understand the desire to leave. But if the culture is enticing enough to keep you even with minimal playing time freshman...
For sure. But it's not unique to our program. It's happening everywhere, and it makes sense when you have a pool of 1,000 + players to fill in your team's weaknesses.
