    12/13 Polls

That’s a very interesting question. I think I agree with Bucktown on this one. It would be pretty asinine to say a man can’t be fouled simply Bc he is standing inside the arc. I’m not 100% certain Bucktown covered it specifically, but it’s as rational of an explanation as could be offered...

    12/13 Polls

What has shown to be very true, is that Kofi's low, aggressive "lean (with authority)" into the chest of the defender, is ALSO not being called. It took him an entire half of that Az game to say "ok, if you're not going to call anything on the guys hacking me, I'm going to MAKE you call an...

    Adam Miller transfers to LSU

As a 35 year, avid watcher of Illiniois basketball. AM was enjoyable and serviceable. Very much so, for a freshman. But he is not a "special" talent. Ayo has height and more importantly, length... which allowed him, with work, to mature into the guard that could get his shot off in almost any...

    Adam Miller transfers to LSU

Miller's minutes would likely be up. I agree. and I am/was a Miller fan... but to say that he would be our 3rd best player AT WORST, is at best, uncertain. Curbello (1) for sure. Kofi (for sure) / Omar (potentially) Trent (likely more integral), Damonte (prob not better, but maybe)...

    Adam Miller transfers to LSU

"Big Tim" and I went back and forth over 20 tweets, a day ago. He's a guy whose twitter handle says is an (Illinois resident who refs HS basketball, is a Kentucky lifer and has a HS review website.) I tried to speak respectful plain facts to him. Adam is a likable kid who could turn out to be...

Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread (March 2021)

Uh the field is who we are against (always) and that is what I am saying. When you make a bet on Tiger vs the field, you don’t “re-bet” on the last day... your bet is still, and always, tiger vs the field. You are free to “uh...what” me if you’d like, but facts are facts. What % of recruits...

Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread (March 2021)

Fact: In any recruiting battle, it is ILL vs. the field... and as almost any gambler will tell you. Always take the field. We don’t lose out to “a program” unless you look at only 1 player at a time. We lose to “the field”. And when I look at it logically, I get far less ticked off. We will...

Illinois 98, Penn State 81 Postgame

I see a lot of digs against tonight's D. I agree in the first half, there were still some lapses... and in previous games, no question... but to say it about tonight's game, IMHO, would be a mistake. Illinois got bunnies while PSU had to hit 15-19 footers and tough shots, all night long. (And...

Illinois 98, Penn State 81 Postgame

I personally think what happened was that it looked worse than it was, to the naked eye, and that's what Ayo saw. Curbello knew he sort of fell on his own, so he tried to let him know. IMO, everyone did exactly what they should have. No issues at all.

    Game Thread: Illinois at Northwestern

I agree with you, but laugh at the thought that THIS is the reason. :) If THIS stands for player growth, continuity on the field, coach staff decisions, game-planning, in game recognition, half-time/real-time adjustments, clock management, defensive creativity or offensive ANYTHING ... then I...

Pregame: Illinois vs Baylor, Wednesday, December 2nd, 9:00pm CT, ESPN

Reading this has been great... the scouting report, the predictions. My only addition would be that Kofi is big, yes, but he is not yet "skilled". If Baylor doubles him... or if he's forced to make moves with the ball, Baylor could gain 12 possessions on us... I think feeding Kofi efficiently...
