That’s fair, and you’re correct about his comments. I sort of skipped this in my initial but I think Edey initiates a lot of that contact with those defending him. If he gets a lot of resistance, he tends to get more aggressive, and resorts to the use of his elbows. The defenders don’t have many options but be aggressive back. Kofi moved so differently than Edey. Though they both are big humans, their style of play around the rim is different. Kofi was slower but super strong. Defenses had time to provide the help and would hack away. Edey is faster but also looks less in control of his body IMO. He does get fouled but I think Edey should be called for offensive fouls more frequently (this includes over-the-back fouls on rebound put-backs). But, I have biased orange and blue eyes. 😉
All true. What gets let go and what gets called when the big men are fighting for position is often hard to understand, and doubly so when it goes against us.
