11/10 Weekend Games

Not sure where to post this, but it was nice to see Kendrick Nunn had a stellar night for his first post Illini basketball game. 36 points, 6 assists, 5 steals. He is going to eat the Horizon league defensives.
Kendrick may lead the nation in scoring by March if he keeps this up. 40 in last scrimmage. BU would have had a field day with KNs skills.

Watched Mizzu/ISU game. Too bad that Tilmon doesn't fit BU's system as otherwise he would have been a great pc to our 2017 class.

What is the point of posts like this? The coaching staff did everything they could to get him to re-commit and he decided to go to Mizzou with Cuonzo.

That "didn't fit BU's system" joke got old about fifty times ago.

Absolutely. Its been used about 50 times for each time someone questioned his fit.

The point is that it doesn't matter whether he would be a good fit for Underwood's offense or not, because from the moment Cuonzo "visited his sister" at East St. Louis High Tilmon was going to Missouri.

WhiteRhino, the original point made by Ga65 was to make fun of all the posters who declared Tilmon a "bad fit" for Underwood's system IMMEDIATELY AFTER he decommitted and signed with Missouri.... a declaration that would NEVER have been made if Tilmon had stayed at U of I. Ga65's point is spot on.:thumb:

As played out as it is, it’s got a ways to go to match references to growth plates, wearing a Brian Cook jersey to school on commitment day, Germans, or Bill Self’s hair, IMO.

On the other hand, I’ll probably always snicker at references to Duhon’s rib, the bag o’excuses, following Tisdale, ladders, Maverick’s white collar comment, and anything Jeff Frank ever has said/will say in the future.

Yes, I understand all of that. The joke has just run its course and needs to be put to death.

I agree. It would be more accepted IF our coaching staff actually passed on JT because he didn't fit BU's system (for example, Groce/Ulis recruitment). However, just because some dumba$$ "experts" on here assumed that he wouldn't fit makes these types of "jokes" worthless at this point. I don't mind a lot of the other stupid comments made on here, but this one grates on my nerves because the comment comes across as BU said that JT didn't fit his system. I'm not sure BU ever mentioned that to JT during his re-recruitment after Martin started recruiting JT to Miznoz. Maybe these "experts" have more info than the rest of us with regard to JT...

My point was he is a very good player and several on this forum put down anyone who decides to go somewhere else. Would have loved for him to be an Illini but not a bad kid because he went elsewhere.

Perusing the B1G results from yesterday, We did not have the largest margin of victory yesterday. That honor goes to Rutgers, who had a 51-13 lead at halftime over something called City College of New York. Final was 94-38

Doesn't CCNY have an NCAA championship or two to their credit?

Indeed. Even if someone actually believed in his heart that Tilmon would not fit well with Underwood's style, just watching the entirety of yesteday's Missouri-Iowa State game (which I did because the Illini were not on regular cable) would tell any sane person that Tilmon is going to be a beast, and he would have fit anybody's system. Not blaming anybody, but Tilmon is a great get for Missouri.

Yeah, and besides, his growth plates are closed.

Nebraska wins 72-68. Panthers accorded themselves pretty well tonight with 3 players finishing in double figures.

EIU travels to WIU on Wednesday night before their home opener Friday vs. IUPUI.
