It's all over you tube. There should be some suspensions at the very least. Looks like the coach for Wisky was trying to talk to him about the time out and he lost it. Oh and one more thing. I am not so sure that was a "SLAP" to the head. That looked like a punch to me but I could be wrong.

bad look for B1G, worse look for UM and Wisconsin, horrible for Howard. Can't imagine UM retains him after this.

I mean let’s be fair it was not a punch but inexcusable regardless

Not sure of the history between the two coaches --- but Juwan started it with his full-court pressure (against Wisconsin's subs) while down 16 points.

Watched it several times, not sure what was the initial emotional trigger, but Howard was initially verbal in the handshake line, then Gard got physical, a Wisc assistant got verbal and Howard then got physical with the asst. After that, a little mayhem.
Note that Howard slapped the side of the asst head with an open hand, NOT a fist, if that matters.

just curious.. what was the line in the UM-wisconsin game? the full court press at the end was definitely bizarre

0:58 Michigan still playing mega-pressure defense on Wisconsin, while down 16 pts
0:56 Gard calls time-out and puts in his subs
0:32 Michigan throws a full court press at Badgers after a made FT
0:23 Michigan still pressuring against Wisconsin's subs; they steal a pass and go full-court for layup
0:15 Gard/Wisconsin calls a time-out as Michigan is still full court pressing Gard's subs; Howard smiles as his players approach bench
0:13 Howard still pressing; fouls to stop clock
0:10 Michigan goes full court and misses shot; makes rebound lay-up

Game ends. Howard does not go immediately to shake hands. Decides instead to be last in line for the handshake. Howard decides to walk past Gard without shaking hands. Gard grabs his hand/shirt to say something. CBS music plays going out to commercial. They jaw. Scrum breaks out and cameras keep rolling. Howard slaps the head of a WI assistant coach. Diabate got a swing in.
Diabate got like 3-4 in...

Are you kidding?!

I'll eagerly await Dave Winfield's input on the matter.

Should Howard be fired? I lean towards yes. Inexcusable behavior from a leader of young men. Also the second time in a calendar year he has had to be restrained from an opposing bench.

All that SHOULD need to be seen his how is players responded ... they mirrored their coach's actions and class perfectly. Diabate got 3-4 punches in and looked to be doing it without an ounce of regret. It's pretty clear Juwan should not be leading young men anywhere, to anything, but we'll see if Michigan agrees...

If he’s not fired, what’s the line? He knives someone? Shoots them? If slapping one after threatening to kill another one, what’s the point of no return?

He has to be gone.
