Ron Harper looks like he is going to play
just needed a glass to break at the very endMs. Goodman rattling the dishes in the background was a fitting nice sound effect. LOL
Howard was whining about the late timeout but what about the fact he was full court pressing down by 15 with 30 seconds left in the game. Not to mention he still had his starters in when Wisconsin had pulled all theirs. I would have been pissed if I was their coach. Thats probably why he called the timeout.Wow, not sure if anyone just saw Juwan Howard throw a punch at a Wisconsin coach after game ended. Howard and Greg Gard had a heated exchange going through the hand shake line after the game. Howard was pissed that Wisconsin took a timeout with 15 seconds left and winning by 12. Which I understand why he would be pissed, by the way. But he carried it way to far when he tries to punch a Wisconsin assistant. That led to several Michigan players then getting into the fray and throwing punches. Definitely going to be some suspensions. Classless act. Can not have that. Like I said, I understand he was upset, I would have been too, but say your piece to Gard on move on. That’s the second such scrum he has been involved in, in his short time at Michigan. Not good for college basketball and not what you want your coach teaching young men.
Again, I disagree about Frieder and about that '89 team. They were 24-7 in the regular season and finished merely one game behind one of the greatest teams in BT history (the Illini) and two games out of first (IU). They had played extremely well all season and were a very strong 3-seed. Frieder took over a sliding program in '80 from Johnny Orr, which after getting to the national title game against IU in '76, was mediocre in '78-'80. Within four seasons Frieder won the NIT in the days when only 32 NCAA bids existed. Then he proceeded to win the BT title two years in a row and get to the second round of the NCAAs three years, the Sweet 16 one year, and then his team won the title. His '85 and '86 teams were just nasty.I was being a bit facetious. I think they're loaded, but not on the level of Rice, Robinson, Vaught, Mills, Higgins. That team was immensely talented as well as being experienced.
Disagree with you completely on Frieders. IMO he was a poor coach. That was a different team the minute they fired him. Suddenly (and sadly for us) they started playing to their potential.
I give #44 on Michigan credit. He tried to keep his punk coach back.
Both of them are douche canoes but one of them is headed for a long, unplanned vacation.Howard was whining about the late timeout but what about the fact he was full court pressing down by 15 with 30 seconds left in the game. Not to mention he still had his starters in when Wisconsin had pulled all theirs. I would have been passed if I was their coach. Thats probably why he called the timeout.
If PU keep shooting like this the RU has no chance. But, how often have we seen two different halves? I'm hoping RU can hang in there until the second half and then, maybe, who knows?Purdue up by 9. 24-15. 11:38 left in 1st half.
I saw two Michigan players throwing punches.Howard getting suspended. At least one Michigan player I thought was throwing punches as well
First physical contact of any kind was Howard grabbing Gard by his shirt. It is all on Howard!I have received zero reason to like either one of these guys.
True, Juwan was simply under the corrupting influence of Illinois University head coach Brock Underward. It's not beyond Warren suspending underwood for incitement.
Don't think so, Howard is the first to go over the line when he grabs Gards shirt collar in a menacing manner. I don't know how anyone on hear can defend Howard.Watched it several times, not sure what was the initial emotional trigger, but Howard was initially verbal in the handshake line, then Gard got physical, a Wisc assistant got verbal and Howard then got physical with the asst. After that, a little mayhem.
Note that Howard slapped the side of the asst head with an open hand, NOT a fist, if that matters.
Not defending anyone, just responding to the headline that calls it a punch. It wasn’t a punchDon't think so, Howard is the first to go over the line when he grabs Gards shirt collar in a menacing manner. I don't know how anyone on hear can defend Howard.

Very similar play to Payne’s foul in our first match up against PU. It took away momentum that PU had and allowed RU to go on their runWoah, tech call on Purdue?
FYI, Purdue has two road games coming up after this @Michigan State and @Wisconsin who they lost to at home.
