I have very mixed emotions about tOSU v. scUM today? On the one hand, if tOSU looses we SHOULD leap frog them for a potential #1 seed, which I believe is critical this year. Avoiding Baylor and Gonzaga until the final four would be huge this year as other than the BIG no league has a great team. If we are a #1 then we also avoid scUM, tOSU and Iowa until the final four. That would be huge! We would still have to (most likely) beat tOSU on the road to keep the #1, which maybe that gets us the #1 anyways?

On the other hand, scUM loosing makes winning the BIG at least possible, if scUM beats the bucks it may just be out of the cards?

So really it may be sort of a choice between winning the BIG means we want tOSU today, or our best chance of winning the national Championship which probably means we want scUM to win today to almost guarantee beating tOSU on the road gives us the #1?

Me, I really like winning the league, we have done and I have seen it in my over 50 years as a fan. I have never seen an NCAA championship so, I guess we/I would want scUM today? I just don’t think we leap frog scUM if they loose?

I really want to win the B1G. A final four run in the tournament and a national championship remain low probabilities, even if after a game like yesterday's they look more possible. The path to a B1G Championship is right there for the taking. I'll root tOSU today.

For what it's worth, I think we leapfrog the loser of scUM/tOSU regardless. I think we're #4 on Monday.

If it's a super close game or goes to OT I could still see scUM ranked ahead of us even if they lose. If they're gonna lose I want them to by at least 8 or 10 points to feel safe about leapfrogging them in the rankings.
Of course if scUM wins then good for them. Then I'll believe they might actually deserve that #3 ranking.

I hope your right, but the Net/media seems in love with scUM. I would say of course the chances of an NCAA championship are low, but I turn 60 this year not many years left to see one. This team can beat anybody in the tournament this year, will they have a team we can say that about over the next say 20 - 25 years I hope I get to watch them? Who knows? It seems like is always 16 years between our “best chances”. By that logic I will be 76 for our next “best chance”. Ayo is special sorry, but I want more than the BIG championship and I think he can get the whole deal. I bet if you asked any kid on the team they would want it all way more than the league title?

I still think that if tOSU loses, even by 1 in overtime, we switch places with them and are #4. What we're talking about is a #5 convincing (dominating?...what's the right word here?) win on the road against a team that plays great at home, versus a loss by either the #3 or #4 team. I think it would be unusual for both of them to retain their ranking despite a loss.

Just my $.02. Hope I'm right.

I’ve had similar thoughts & here’s what I’ve landed on:

I’m rooting for OSU.

Rationale:

1: Regarding the NCAA tournament, we control our destiny. We win out & we’re a 1 seed, regardless of what happens today. Even if we lose one & that one loss is to Michigan, but we beat OSU, we still likely claim that 4th 1 seed.

2: Whereas, when it comes to winning the B1G, we currently do not control our destiny.

If Michigan wins today & we win out, there’s a world where Michigan with one less loss than us wins the B1G.

All you can hope for is to be in control over your own destiny.

Go Buckeyes.

Totally valid, as I said very torn over this game. It would be nice to have the last game of the season be for the league title.

Well now that it has started I simply can never root for scUM. Just can’t do it go bucks!

9-9 at 1st media timeout.

If we can play with the defensive intensity that we did last night – we can beat either one of these teams

The clown Lunardi said neither team will drop from #1 seed with a loss today.
1 seeds won’t be decided today. We still play both teams. If both teams beat us, they’ll lock in a 1 seed regardless of what happens today. If we beat one or both of those teams, we slip into the 1 line.

Did Liddell just watch the ball dribble out of bounce that went off him?

Wow the last time I watched either of these teams play without it being against the Illini Jim Jackson ,Chris Jent and the Fab Five were playing .

I think BU is working his Giorgi, Kofi tandem into the lineup more to get ready for Michigan's size and I think Grandison starting and being on the floor 20+ minutes really will help more in another matchup against against Ohio state.

Why should they? If one gets run out of the gym, it might warrant it but if it's a close game, I have no problem with neither of them dropping a line. We still play both teams and those head-to-head matchups are what will and should determine seeding.

Livers looks huge guarding Kyle Young....has he put on a lot of weight or are my eyes deceiving me ?

Michigan and Ohio St. are really good teams. Everyone both teams put in the game seems like a threat to score which makes them both dangerous.

This Ohio State team is elite offensively, but not elite defensively. Michigan is getting great looks on nearly every possession. Ohio State answering, but they are hitting tough shots like Lidell over Dickinson from 15 feet.
