Do we have to win the Big Ten Championship to qualify for the NCAA Regionals or will we be in regardless as an "at large" because of our high ranking?

Oh, we'll be in for sure. 80 teams get in, so you have to be pretty mediocre not to make it. There are some smaller schools that will get in via automatic bids, but even the Big Ten will get 6 or 7 teams in and it's not really that good of a league (aside from Illinois).

Having said that, not winning the Big Ten would be a huge upset. Northwestern and Purdue have decent teams, but the rest....? Well, there were 8 Big Ten teams in this most recent tournament and the closest to Illinois was Iowa, 35 shots back. The most recent time we failed to win the Big Ten was in 2014 when MN won it. We've won it every other year since 2009.

I saw the SEC has switched to match play for their league championship, I guess an attempt to get teams prepped for the NCAA finals.

Knew we shouldn't have much problem winning the B10, thanks for the info!

If you're like me and were wondering where the remaining events of the year are:
Big Ten Championships, Baltimore, MD April 28-30 ... hoping that they are on BTN
NCAA Regionals, TBD, May 15-17
NCAA Finals, Sugar Grove, IL, May 26-31 . . . Think Golf Channel usually covers the final day or two, which are a Tuesday and Wednesday after Memorial Day.

Not live. Looks like they will show a recap show the following Sunday, May 7. They are showing the women's recap this Sunday, as their championships were this past weekend.

Looks like they are showing the Men's and Women's Tennis championships this Sunday though.

Yeah, Big Ten coverage is only delayed and it's pretty minimal. And hopefully it's just as boring as recent seasons where Illinois has it wrapped up early on. :D

Most likely regional site for Illinois would be at Purdue or perhaps Murfreesboro TN. They typically assign the better teams to a regional close to home.

Thanks for the link. Will be checking in throughout the day to see how the boys do. I'm guessing it will be a runaway.

It should be a 10+ stroke victory but anything is possible in golf, especially with the Illini not playing as well as they did in the fall.

With the 1st day pretty much done
14 stroke differential between Illinois and #2 team (tOSU)
14 stroke differential between tOSU and last place.

That, folks, is one team running away with it !

Right here in the middle of day 2, 4 of the top 14 players are Illini. If the 14 teams in the B1G were even, that should be 1 of the top 14, but no. 4 of 14. Awesome

Win by 20, top 2 medal, 4 in the top 10! Great Googly-moogly! Beggars belief! :congrats:

My bad! I thought 2 rounds was odd but I failed to see the 3rd round noted on the scoreboard yesterday. I feel dumb(er).

While the outcome never was in doubt, it is interesting to see that we played worse each round.

Yeah, the scores went up each day but not really a concern. I think it's just due to the fact that they played really well on that first day and even though the second day didn't match it, they still shot the best team score that day by 3 shots. Probably some loss of focus that last day.

@GolfweekCasey

According to Golfweek/Sags, @IlliniMGolf was expected to win Big Tens by 16 shots.

How many did Illinois actually win by? Oh, 16 shots. 😊
