2016 St. Louis Cardinals

In my own highly amatuer Kolton Wong analysis his hot start last prolly did more damage than good.

He went deep multiple times early last year and got to thinking he was a power hitter. Been coming out of his shoes on every swing since then.

He needs to go to Memphis and learn what is and isn't a strike. If he can't do that he's done in MLB. Swings at way too many bad pitches.

Once he masters that he needs to cut down on his swing and start being a high OBP contact hitter.

He's got his work cut out for him.

Amazing how Cardinal hitters continue to make terrible pitchers look like Cy Young.

Great to see. Now we just need to get Pena back, he started his rehab assignment at AA yesterday. Yadi hasn't looked sharp lately.

fryer needs to be playing every 4th game. Fryer has done a good job when given time; that's why I wouldn't rush Pena back. I'd give him another 2 weeks.

Speaking up back-up catchers, I see where ex-Cardinal Tony Cruz just got shipped back to AAA by the Royals.

He has been good but that is a very small sample size. I'm going to trust Matheny on this one since he was a catcher. For whatever reason, he doesn't trust Fryer. Hopefully he trusts Pena.

At this rate, Yadi will be burned out by September yet again. Hopefully Pena coming back will allow more off days for Yadi.

Matheny hasn't trusted a catcher besides Yadi ever. Fryer needs to be playing at least every 5th game, or he's gonna be on fumes come September.

True but he's only had 1 catcher, Cruz, and I would hope that changes as Molina gets older. We'll see what happens but this season there is really no excuse for players to be worn down. Last year we had injuries all season, but this year we are deep at almost every position (fingers crossed). If we look worn down again it's all on Matheny.

"Hey Jhonny, you've played 2 games in a row, take a break. Yadi! Grab your glove again!"

Anybody who has more knowledge like the Delvin Perez pick? From what I can tell I really like it

Rated as a top 10 draft pick, but he was just popped for PED use. I believe he is only 16 or 17 years old. He has a great glove and can run, I have no clue about his bat, but how could anyone really know at his age. He seems like he has great size.

They say his bat is suspect but he has potential as he is only 17 years old. He has 70 speed, and plus plus defense so probably 70-75 defense.

Dylan Carlson, 33rd pick, told Jennifer Langosch(sp?) that he will forego his commitment to Cal -Fullteron and sign with the cardinals.

FYI, Dakota Hudson, 34 pick, plays in the super regionals this Saturday against Arizona. Good chance to watch him

I don't know what it is, but I have great feeling about the Carlson pick. Switch hitter that is a coaches son.played first base and made the transition to outfield, so you have to imagine he has some good athletic skills. 17 year old as well.

Actually, Hudson pitches tomorrow not Saturday.

I did read that what Perez got popped for was only adderall.

Wong 3-4 with a lead off home run and a walk off grand slam in his Memphis debut last night...

Is he Tyler Greene 2.0? Lol

I forgot all about Tyler Greene v

Not only did he have all the tools, if you were building a ball player from the ground up, he had the body you would use. At a glance he just looked like a guy who was a good ball player. Kinda like Joe Mather. What could have been with those 2... Just really good AAA players unfortunately

Those two had everything you wanted physically, just mentally it wasn't there. I haven't heard Joe Mather's name in FOREVER.

Great comeback tonight. The bench came through again, and the pen was lights out. It seems we if our pitching has turned a corner for the better (knock on wood).

Moss is having an Adam Dunn type season - 14 homers, 18 walks, 53k's, .335 obp, and .579 slg. While he's doing all of this playing part time, the player he was traded for - Rob Kaminsky - has a 4.83 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and a 1.25 K/BB ratio. Maybe we, especially myself, shouldn't jump the gun on a trade right away.

Fixed my own post

Good read on the first day picks. This shows that Mo doesn't give one f what everyone thinks.
