2016 St. Louis Cardinals

Not only did he have all the tools, if you were building a ball player from the ground up, he had the body you would use. At a glance he just looked like a guy who was a good ball player. Kinda like Joe Mather. What could have been with those 2... Just really good AAA players unfortunately

Wow Joe Mathers and Tyler Greene! Forgot all about those 2.

What a way to win it last night. I wish I was watching, but I was too busy watching LeBron choke.

Very important series wins against the Giants and now the Pirates. Martinez was great tonight.

I hope Peralta is that calming force and we start to string together some wins. We have to start pitching better, Wacha looked good yesterday, Waino has been solid as of late, we really need Jaime to get going(atleast on the road, good at home). Pitch and field the ball and we will win a lot of ball games.

I think Peralta is the calming force. He plays so laid back, that I think it calms everyone else down. And he's naturally at a position that fits him perfectly.

Jaime is Jaime, except great pitching at home, and suspect pitching on the road.

Very happy with tonight's game. We looked like a solid team out there. We need to pick up wins where we can get um. The cubs won today but have looked shaky. Hayward has had a bit of a rough stretch for them. Hopefully we can eat into their cushion at first place.

Give her the ol' sweeparoo! Team has been playing much better over the past couple weeks, and especially since Johnny came back.

I think Peralta just happened to come back at the same time we started playing better. The pitching staff has really stepped up their game after getting roughed up by the Cubs a couple weeks ago.

Waino isn't vintage Waino (don't think he'll ever be again), but he's a solid pitcher. We just need to hope that Martinezs' start in Pittsburgh is the turn for him to being the ace. Everyone knows he has the talent to be a top 5 pitcher in baseball.

Agreed. Waino has had 4 straight quality starts and now leads the team with 8. Martinez has had 3 straight quality starts. And overall since that Cubs series the team has had 11 quality starts out of 16 games. Keep in mind 3 of those games were in Cincinnati's dumb ballpark and Jaime started all his games on the road.

Things from last night's visit:

-Yeah, it was toasty. Thank goodness for the breeze and a certain cloud that blocked the sun or it would've been much worse.
-Why is Matheny continuing to use Rosenthal in non-save situations when it's clear that he's not very good in those situations?
-Visited the Hall of Fame & Museum and it was awesome. A must-go for any Cards fan.
-I discovered that I had some extra $ so I got a ticket for the UMB Champions Club on 7/19 (Got a good deal for it too). Looking forward to it.

Why Matheny uses him there is beyond me. It's a dumb, dumb decision. You use Oh in those situations.

HOF museum is awesome. I absolutely love it.

You'll definitely enjoy the champions club. Not a bad view from anywhere there. Let us know how you enjoy that.

Sounds like a good time besides the last two innings. Glad to hear!

Cardinals schedule gets tougher over the next couple of weeks. Starting with this weekend's series against the Rangers, St. Louis will play games against teams either in 1st place or 2nd place in their division. This includes an 8-game, 3-city road trip starting Monday where they will play in Chicago, Seattle, and Kansas City.

Man, these last 4 games have been frustrating. Our hitting and bullpen have been carrying us most of the year. Then our starting pitch gets into form and our hitting/bullpen decide to stop producing.

Luckily this is happening against AL teams so it doesn't matter quite as much, but it would of been nice to carry that momentum from a few days ago into Chicago.
