Illini women currently 3 strokes out of the 5th place tie that they need to be a part of.
Ladies are +5 while tOSU, Oregon State and Northwestern are all +2.

As of right now, in a three way playoff, our fifth score each day is at +9, same as NU's. Ohio St is currently +10 with their 5th score.

Not sure how they would decide that tiebreaker.

If we end in a 4 way tie, we should be one of the teams in with a better 5th score. Right now it looks like we are a combined +8, whereas the other three teams are at +10, if my math skills are correct.

There has been enough separation now that it seems a lock that the last two spots will be between Illinois, Northwestern, Ohio State, and Oregon State. This is nerve-wracking! I can't imagine what it's like for the players. It might come down to one or two shots making the difference.

Illinois alone in 7th, a stroke behind tOSU. NU is in 5th, 2 strokes ahead and Oregon St has dropped to a stroke behind Illinois in 8th.

They just need to tie, OSU, I believe. OSU has been carried by their top golfer, while Illinois has greater depth. I believe we would win the tie-breaker of counting all scores.

I believe the same would be true of Oregon State, who we are now tied with.

Usually, no news is good news. But do the Illini still have a chance? Or is it over? Where is the live scoring?

Looks like Northwestern can thank there No 4 golfer for advancing. She went -7 today while their No 1 went +7.

Illini finish in 7th place, 3 shots back from advancing.

All 5 of the Illini golfers finish in the top 36 of the regional, but no one could go low this week.

Stepping stones for the Ilini women.

We lose 4 seniors this season, but have a recruiting class of 5 coming in. We will be pretty young, hopefully they are ready to take charge next season.

The petty side of me is getting some consolation from the fact that it looks like Wake Forest is going to just miss the cut in their regional and Siyun Liu won't be competing at nationals :p

She probably would have made the difference for Illinois, though.
