I can see why Underwood liked him.

Just realized my two Trimble posts should be on the recruiting thread since he's a 2017. Sorry 'bout that. Maybe Dan can move?? And BMo's reply. (Although I realize there are some transfer posts on the recruiting page - very confusing time right now.)

He seems to play just like DaWill to me, and I still don't think we will add anyone else in 17, BUT he would be nice to have if we knew DaWill was going to sit out and get fully healthy.

lol and yeah its the wrong place I guess but all the talk in the right place is about transfers

I cant see us adding any more 2017 guys unless they are bigger then 6-7, I think if we do add anyone they will be 5th guys. I think the staff really wants at least 3 ships for 19
I believe we do indeed have three slots for 2019, regardless of signing Trimble, or not:

- 9 scholarship players on the current roster; thus 4 automatic openings next year
- Alstork's slot also becomes available in 2018; thus 1 add'l opening next year

SUMMARY:
5 Total openings for 2018, at least as of today (see above)
3 Total openings for 2019 (Finke, Black, Jordan)
2 Total openings for 2020 (Nichols, Lucas)
3 Total openings for 2021 (Williams, Smith, Frasier)

Naturally, all of this is going to change.

Hearing that we are back in the Cam Johnson sweepstakes. A lineup of Smith Alstork Johnson Nichols Black would be very intriguing.

How is that possible
Somebody else already theorized this, but in the face of Pitt's blocking UNC, maybe Cam did a hard reset on his options and reevaluated everything.

This would be the cherry on top of all cherries.

Some of his other options that looked likely seem to be drying up. UNC sounds like where he'd like to go but Pitt is blocking the ACC. UK got Knox at the same position. Some of the other schools out of rides...

I'm still not convinced it's him. We have no sources publicizing anything, and this is really just a guess on the part of this board AFAIK. It'd be great, though.

Adnarel - you're typically pretty "tuned-in". I'll be anxious to hear you confirm the speculation.

If indeed it's true, our plethora of guard talent could be staggering. Extremely talented, and deeeeeeep!

Sorry, I don't have anything that essentially hasn't already been said here. I actually got an email from a fellow Illinois fan this afternoon pertaining to this specific mystery visitor, and the name was purposefully withheld. All I know for sure is that whatever is going on is continuing the pattern in the Underwood regime of operating quietly.

90% of the time I'm just as in the dark as anybody else here. Tap the brakes on lumping me in with the actual info-bringers. =PPP

I'm with you, you can speculate, and it sounds good, but it needs some validation. Johnson would be a great pickup, and Pitt said it's firm on him not playing in ACC. Still think he might get his way, but then again you never know......:noidea::popcorn:. Think Oregon and Arizona are still on his list.

Oregon won't be a viable option if they get McIntosh. AZ has way too much talent for him to come in and have the role he wants. Would not surprise me at all to see him here next year.

You also have to take into account, that we have added some talent to our roster since he was last considering us. Having Alstork and Smith really helps our case here.

Have heard the same thing. Expect 2 more players to join this class, very soon!! Will not be McIntosh for any of those wondering.

I won't bother asking for names. But since this the transfer thread, can we assume they both fall into that category?? Available immediately???

I'm hearing Oregon wants Johnson, not McIntosh. Actually heard it here:

(hate to repost, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

Sorry I meant 18 not 19, If we add Greg-E like most are thinking I just don't think they will add more, Personally I would take anyone who can play that can help, Plus it will let DaWill not rush to play

IF BIG IF we could get all 3 we should be back in the top 5 in Big Ten
