2017 Basketball Transfer Thread

Bragg I thought was overranked coming out of high school with a low motor, seem disinterested at Kansas a lot, lack of playing time, issues....would sit for a year and take a scholly from 2018 class of which we have only a few already...don't see it happening here?

I don't see sitting out a year as a negative. Also 5.2 PPG and 4.1 REB in 14 mins is pretty solid to me. If he gets 30/mins a game his stats will be very good. I think he is being under-rated as a player. Unless there is information out there we don't know about i would take a gamble on Bragg.

That seems to be the consensus.

Mike Brown's son. Took an official to NW a week or so ago and Wildcats were pushing strongly for him. Thanks, Ducks. (Of course Purplestein did an article about it.)

Just based on the Twitter reports I see posted here regarding visits being set up by transfer players, maybe the staff isn't as interested in transfers as we are on this board :D

I don't know who or what the staff is interested in, but I do think they are not interested in sharing their interests with us. There seemed to be a lot more leaks during the previous administration. This one plays it close to the vest.

Grad transfers get officials? Are they limited to five and do they have the same rules that cover HS player visits?

BOOM! Feed my ego.
Man I really wanted this transfer.

If we lose one of our guards, sure. Otherwise he seems a little redundant to me. Don't get me wrong, I'd definitely take him. I'm just not concerned about guard play. I think I want Smith/Frazier/TJL to get as much PT as possible anyway.

I wanted him regardless of our current guard situation. His tape looked that good to me.

Will be interesting if BU can get a big on the transfer market I think it is absolutely a necessity if we hope to go to the tourney next year. It will be hard to compete in conference if all we have is Finke and an undersized Black. Offensively it works but will be a potential disaster on the defensive end of the floor.

I like #8. What is the news on him?

"8. Ed Morrow, PF, So., Nebraska Cornhuskers: Morrow had a strong sophomore season -- 9.4 points, 7.5 rebounds -- and brings a high motor and very good rebounding ability. He recently visited Marquette and has scheduled visits to Iowa State, Pittsburgh and Xavier."

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...asketball-best-transfers-going-2017-18-season

Morrow would have to sit out a year, so doesn't solve our immediate need. Plus the staff is high on a lot of 2018 kids, so I'm not sure they want to use a scholly for someone that has to sit out a year.

A graduate transfer big is a no-brainer for this team, I'm not sure why we're not hearing them go after them harder. MiKyle McIntosh is the only one we've even heard rumors about and that is mostly a product of this board saying who they should go after, not confirmed interest by the staff - and we're not mentioned in the ESPN article. It would seem a big would get immediate playing time here as a graduate transfer, not sure why we can't get one to come here.

Morrow already announced for Marquette a month ago I believe.

edit: nevermind I guess he just visited.

I think it would be worth giving Morrow a scholarship for 2 years for him to play 1. We have 3 openings with the need for bigs. I would just see him like a jr. transfer that has to redshirt. If he is willing to lose a year I would take him.

I believe Morrow went to visit Iowa State around a week or 2 ago.

Can't Nebraska block Morrow's transfer to other Big Ten schools? And how likely is that? Also, he seems to be plagued with foot injuries. Considering our injuries two season ago, I am a little spooked by anyone with injuries.

I thought they already granted his release?
