Trimble would have to sit out 1 yr. , but he`s a very good player. Atm I think we have a lot of recruits that will be sign for 2018. Not sure we really interested.

Why would he have to sit ??? He is a 2017 kid

Great day for this thread!

Sounds like the staff is keeping busy and earning their $$$. I want anyone BU thinks will help our program.

Why would he not pick Oregon out of that group

They lost a lot of players and may be no better than us. And they are a long ways away and very few east of the Rockies see them play, at least at a decent hour.

something that i think needs to be addressed is that with BU's offense, we will no longer be seeing as much iso-action, and the scoring is going to be very balanced. Could see 1-2 guys average over 11 or 12 a game and a lot of guys in the 5-10 range. This may not be appealing to guys who want to be "the man".

Last year, Underwood had players average 19, 17, 13, 8 and 5 other players between 4.5 and 5.8.

19 a game could certainly be considered the man. An offense that put up 86 a game gives ample opportunity for someone to emerge as the man. Ask Juwan Evans.

Jawun Evans and Thomas Walkup were both clearly "the man" in BU's offense. The offensive scheme might not lead to a lot of traditional iso sets, but it still allows for a variety of opportunities for a talented player to press his advantage in one-on-one situations either around or away from the basket.

Bowen's announcement today, sounds like Louisville, who knows for sure. This might make a commitment from other transfer happen. Summer school starts soon and camps , nice to get squad settled.

Since Bowen is already enrolled in classes at Louisville, it would be shocking of it wasn't them.

It's hard for me to imagine Cam Johnson coming here when we have so much guard depth. Maybe our guard depth isn't as impressive as I think it is. Someone convince me.

I'm shocked that Louisville players actually enroll in classes, but I guess enroll and attend are two different things.

i've reached a peace in knowing that regardless of who is on the team this season, we have a coach that can adjust his system to fit those pieces

We would definitely score. Would have to figure out defense and rebounding.

I'm wouldn't be upset about that lineup at all...

That looks like a team that could be real solid. Assuming Mark Smith is as good as we hope he is (for a freshman at least) and as long as one of Frazier, Williams, or Jordan can be a serviceable 8th man in the rotation.

I guess I'm thinking of it from Johnson's POV. Does he really want to play the 4? I understand in today's game these numbers and position names don't mean as much as they used to.

Believe me, I'm not making a case for why he shouldn't come to UI. Give me that lineup! :D

Domino #1:
With that roster and BU's offensive scheme, we're definitely a Division 1 "winning program" --- on the upswing.....starting in 2017-18.

Domino #2:
SFC starts to sell out, and Illini Orange finally becomes a part of the NCAA national BB scene once again.

Domino #3:
2018/19/20 recruiting thus becomes easier and more successful.

Scary good, top 25 in nation, top 5 B1G. Would have bench, looks good on paper. Like to see it on floor.:illinois:

Scary good? What?

More competitive, yes. Anything more than that is a reach.

Currently, without at least two reliable big guys defensively.....they're going to be scary all right.

I doubt the staff is selling Johnson on playing the post. I see him playing on the wing.
