Not sure if this has been posted already but I thought it might be interesting: Coaches salaries

Wow, some of our candidates have got some wiggle room

If Groce is gone so is Frazier. I guarantee it.
Agreed. I believe there is a rationale there, but I would love to know what the evidence is that he is locked in out west.I'm really intrigued by Krystkowiak. His results at Utah, a P5 school, have to put him near or at the top. I just want to know where the whole idea is coming from that he's too Utahn or Montanan to want to leave, or wouldn't be able to figure out Midwestern recruiting if he does. I'm sincerely curious. Does anyone know if he's turned down other HC gigs recently? Does he <heart> Big Sky like Larry Bird does Indiana? Is he Mormon? I mean, he did spend 7 years in Milwaukee with the Bucks (2 as a coach) so he has to know something about our area.
Even a blind Josh Pastner finds a decent seed every now and again.Oversees underseed, at least they were seeded just sayin
You know this how?
I hope Frazier stays and remember the tweet about committing to the school, but wasn't there another about "don't get rid of my guy Groce" or something like that? I am searching through this thread, but it might have been on another site.
I'm 99.9% certain it won't happen, but just as an intellectual exercise: say we go on a hot streak--no major coaching adjustments, just the team gels and starts torching nets--finish the B1G season 7-1 (10-8), win 1 game in the BTT, and then lose in the first round of the NCAAT as an 8 seed...but we get commitments from Mark Smith and a solid 5th year big man. Groce is retained. How do you feel about the future of the program? Are you past the point of no return at this point - i.e. done with this staff barring a miracle Elite 8 run or something similar? Personally, I think I'd have mixed feelings.
I have a feeling all of these kids are going to be more excited about playing for the new basketball coach than they are about playing for Groce. Kind of like how the football kids were more excited about playing for Lovie than Cubit. I really hope Mark Smith waits to see who the new coach is before making a decision!

Any hints?!Learned some new info.

Recruit thread. He's saying when Groce is fired, Trent Frazier will go elsewhere. Oh well! I'd prefer he stay, but getting rid of Coach Ladder is better for the health of the program.
This would be by far his best class, if Smith was willing to commit but hesitating because he doesn't know who the coach will be I would keep Groce to get this class. I know I'm in the minority but talent wins games and Smith is a real wild card. I don't know what it would take to get him here but if telling him we are keeping Groce would do it then I would.

I foresee two possible outcomes if Capel becomes our next head coach:
1. He does well for a couple years, maybe we even get a S16 or E8 app out of it. Regardless, if he has any tourney success here, hes gone once K retires.
2. He does exactly what hes been doing as a HC and under perform. Oklahoma was awful, sans Griffin. He has done pretty poor this year, though I dont hold it too much against him.
The latter is about 100x more likely than the former. Not even to mention I highly doubt he leaves Duke, K is gone very soon and him staying compared to leaving for the UI job increases his likelihood of getting the best HC job in college immensely.
I'm OK with the Musselman talk. Sadly I really want to see a 3rd season out of him at Nevada first.

Have tried hard to keep up with this thread but don't remember anyone addressing this. Many posters have cited the above as "one of the boxes to be checked" in a coaching search. Seems to me that Keatts' resume shows nothing to suggest he has ties to the State, the City, or the Metro (vs. say Archie or Cuonzo). Unless Lousville is considered "Midwest." (I know it's just across the river from Indiana).
His background does seem impressive but this is keeping me from jumping onto his Train. Plus the No P5 wins.
