Another brain surgeon who would rather have Bruce Pearl as their coach.
Like it was mentioned before with Coach Calipari, Scott Drew comes here and the NCAA comes a knockin' with sanctions just as soon as the ink is dry on his contract.
Ummm, then you've missed a lot.Don't lump Scott Drew with the football team. Has Drew even been hit with any sanctions in 14 years? I don't remember of any issues. In fact, he suspended one of his guys from tonight's game. As far as I can tell, he runs a tight ship.

"CBS Sports’ anonymous poll found that “almost nobody has a specific story (of wrongdoing) but nearly everybody believes ‘he’s gotta be doing something.’
Apparently the man is guilty before being proven guilty. What a great country we live in. Name me 1 specific violation this man has had and then let's debate.
It sure sounds to me like the consensus is that Cuonzo is the safe bet. He doesn't feel like the kind of pick Whitman would make. It makes me think he would have to change his mantra from #WeWillWin to #WeWillWinEnough. At least on the basketball side anyway. I don't think Whitman will make his hire out of fear like Guenther always did.
Johnny Dawkins?
Seems like fairly minor stuff. Impermissible phone calls resulting in a couple of scholarships taken away....But, I guess I can see where there might be some cause for concern. Apparently, the blue blood of college basketball didn't think it was a major issue to hire Calipari, the king of violators, so much ado about nothing as far as I'm concerned. But, Whitman may end up staying clear of Drew as a result of past issues, however small they may be after what has happened with the women's bball team and the football team.

Don't forget the men's basketball run ins with the NCAA (Slush Fund, Bruce Pearl) may make our AD less likely to hire anyone with even a hint of past improprieties (which may preclude Keatts as well--guilty by association with Louisville).
Another brain surgeon who would rather have Bruce Pearl as their coach. You can keep that dirt bag and his cesspool that trails behind him.

Do you need more reasons why Martin was more successful than Pearl at UT. Success is defined by more than who won an extra game in the NCAA. Pearl is a scumbag, no comparison to Martin.
The question was whether Martin continued or bettered the on court success at Tennessee after Pearl was fired.

The point isn't whether Pearl is scum. He is. It's also not about who you would rather have Martin vs Pearl because Pearl can't come here.

I find it highly unlikely that the HC of Hargrave for 10 years is even remotely clean. Also, isn't anyone concerned that Keatts was there for so long without moving to the college ranks?
Based on commits, it appears that the reason Louisville hired Keatts was to open a Hargrave pipeline (i.e., Montrezl Harrell, Terry Rozier, Anton Gill, etc.).
I like Keatts, but I'm fairly convinced it won't be him. Archie Miller is my #1 choice, but I'd put the chances of him being hired at about 15% because it seems like he might want to wait for NC St. I put C. Martin at 35%, Monty Williams at 20%, Keatts at 2%, and someone else besides those listed at 28%. Though I don't think it would be terrible if Keatts was hired, it would be disappointing because I'm guessing while he might be in Whitman's top 10 candidates he is closer to number 10 than 5, which would mean a whole lot of coaches turned us down.

Kind of confused here about all the love for Martin. When Weber was our coach, I distinctly remember people hating on the offensive system he ran. Isn't Martin from the same coaching tree? Wouldn't the offense look similar? I am also not blown away with the supposed transformations of the programs that he inherited. I will give you that his recruiting seems solid and he should be able to do good things recruiting the talent rich Metro East region but other than that, I see Kevin Stallings. Just trying to get why a majority of people support this guy over some of the other potential candidates....
