I'm just guessing here. I don't know for sure, but I imagine it should be interpreted as meaning "the top 5 teams will advance," since the statement immediately below that is "ties will be resolved." Again, not sure.
I looked at the weather in Stillwater and its not suppose to rain again until 7. From earlier forecasts it was a small cell that went through. They should be able to get more golf in

Nice downpour. Just what the doctor ordered. Too bad the temp. isn't around 40.
Its going to take the golfers a few holes to get used to the greens now as the course is still drying out. It will make for a great finish with OSU as we are tied at the moment. Gio has turned things around and now we have 5 golfers in the top 17. Jerry is off to a bad start, hopefully Mike can get mind going positive.
Fading a little and OSU is on fire at -20, not surprising as it's their home course. We're still in second at -14 and will be moving on barring a monumental collapse.
Doesn’t look like the Regional title is going to happen but still a really good tournament for the Illini. Lots of golf left still but OSU up 10 on the Illini now.

Every other regional is in their second round is all, plenty of golf to be played. Even NU has a chance seeing as OSU picked up 6 strokes on 1 hole against us.OSU picked up 6 shots on us on one hole, the 9th.
Looks like Illini and the Buckeyes will be the only Big Ten teams advancing. NW dropping like a rock in our regional. Their #1 player was 10 over on front nine!

Also side note: there are currently 3 teams ranked higher than the Illini that wouldn't qualify for the NCAA championship as it stands.
Not anymore. The only top 10 team not currently in position to advance is Oklahoma, and they are not far out, and have an entire round tomorrow to move up
Wow! Every single player on Little Rock birdied the final hole to knock out both Auburn and Baylor. That is clutch!

What drama in Stillwater! The last golfer for Auburn eagled the final hole to tie them with Baylor for the 5th spot. But then all four players from Little Rock birdied the last hole to jump both Auburn and Baylor by one

Oklahoma is going to be facing an uphill battle on Wednesday. Would be nice to have #1 sitting at home at the end of this month!

We certainly have the right coach. I know we'll be well-prepared.
And given all those years we were quasi-favored and failed to win, it would be nice to sneak in the back door for our first national title!

Can anyone describe the format of play in the championships? I ask because it's a long tournament, May 28 - June 2 is 6 days!
I think it's 3 days of stroke play and then 3 days of match play for the top 8 teams. Is the final day 18 holes or 36?
I can get to Scottsdale in 4 hours and would go on final day if Illini make it and spectators are allowed. Assume spectators are ok, as Arizona is pretty open.

All 30 teams and six individuals will complete 54 holes of stroke play. (Following 54 holes of competition, the top 15 teams along with the top nine individuals not on an advancing team will continue on for one additional day of stroke play to determine the eight teams for match play and the 72-hole individual champion. The top eight teams after 72 holes of play will be placed into a bracket with the number one seed playing the number eight seed, the number two seed versus the number seven seed, the number three seed versus the number six seed and the number four seed versus the number five seed competing in match play. Ties for the top eight will be broken by a sudden-death playoff or, if necessary, by the non-sudden-death tiebreaking procedure set forth in this manual.
June 1st starts match play, 2 rounds. Finals match is on June 2nd.
