and to think ISU fired Porter Moser for Mueller. AD (is gone and now at Kansas) should be shown the door.
In their defense, Moser was a complete disaster as a HC at Illinois State. Actually, Moser has never finished better than 5th place in the conference his teams play in without Cam Krutwig. That covers the Sun Belt, Horizon, and Missouri Valley. Never made the NCAA Tournament without Krutwig either and it appears that this year is going both of those directions also.

Saw a write up on potential head coach candidates for ISU. Roger Powell was one of the 7 and it mentioned him playing at Illinois. Would Roger consider taking the ISU job? I know his father played there and it would be a good starting job for a young coach, but with his resume, would he be looking at a college in a better conference than the MVC? Could Roger be a candidate for KSU if Weber retires? Maybe Missouri comes open (I don't think the Mizzou fanbase would stand for an Illinois grad).

Another thing I've noticed on head coach candidates list, no mention of Jerrance Howard anymore. I have my thoughts on why he's not mentioned, but you would think that an assistant that spent so many years working for Self would at least get a mention.

What is the history of assistant coaches getting their first head job at a P5? Aside from a couple promotions internally.

ISU would set up well for Roger to have success.

I'm not sure that jerrance has the make up to be a head coach, especially at a higher level. So good for him to continue to collect sizeable paychecks for doing what I presume he enjoys and is good at doing. A high paid assistant in P5 is likely more attractive to some than a low level school head job.

Martin at Missouri just got blown out by 20 and is on a 5 game losing streak. All signs point to him getting fired at the end of the year. Wonder who they will go after next. Miz is NOT a destination place in basketball and is on life support. Going to be interesting.

Liked Crean as an announcer, lousy coach but maybe better than Ewing or Clownzo. Weber is hall of fame compared to these guys. Not sure I want the preacher at ISU competing for area recruits. Definitely don’t want him at Mizzu.

Schools are going to start pulling the plug. New coaches are going to want to hit the transfer portal hard.

With the promise of playing time and NIL its become like NBA free agency

Bruce Weber (KSU 10-8) , Jeff Capel (Pitt 7-12) , Tom Crean (GA 5-14) and Bobby Hurley (ASU 6-10). Should be interesting to see who is new coach at these places.

Hardway is bad 10-8 but at least he recruits well. He needs to hire a former head coach to run practices and help him game manage (see Phil Martelli 30 years HC at St Joseph who runs things for Juwon at Michigan).

Maybe somebody will recycle Greg Marshall from Wichita State. He was on everybody's list a few years ago. Bruce Pearl and Kelvin Sampson got 2nd chances. Pitino is back at Iona. If you win it does not appear to matter what you did wron
If Hurley is out at ASU and players transfer do we then have any interest in Enoch Boakye, a center who originally committed to Michigan St. and then decommitted? 6'10-240lbs, and ranked around the same area as Kofi and Payne coming out of high school. Hasn't done much at ASU, doesn't even start, but Izzo is a pretty decent evaluator of talent and it just may be that Hurley and staff weren't very good coaches (see ASU record). I seem to recall there was some interest expressed here in possibly pursuing him when he decommitted.

I know that was the original plan and that he’s had injury problems, but his stats don’t scream one and done. Never seen him play, but was pulling for him cuz of the great story of highly ranked recruit going to small school to play for dad.
Yeah I mean he probably played himself out of lottery contention, but I think NBA scouts still see lots of potential. Saw him at #17 and #24 in couple recent mock drafts.
