If one of these guys in the middle of the lineup is a legit allstar 3-4 hitter (Robert, eloy, or Vaughn), it’s a very deep lineup. If those guys all end up as .275 with 18 home runs, it’s just meh

Gimmie a 2-2 split against the reigning champs and unanimous pick to repeat in Houston any day….let’s head home and crank it……GO SOX!!!!!
This. I was honestly expecting 1-3. Still a lot to work on - bullpen and scoring with bases loaded and no outs would be a start.

Starting pitching was very good, and they seem to be hitting for power again which is a good sign.

Sox offense and starting pitching off to a decent start. The weak link right now is the bullpen. Lopez could develop into a good closer but he's still finding his way right now. Other relievers need to step it up and become more dependable.

Sox showed that they can play with the best... and on the visitor's field as well. Sox are still leaving too many men on base so far and they are missing their yearly RBI machine of Abreu. But the guys in the middle of the lineup have the talent to eventually make up for the slack. And we should see more Sox running when they get the chance as the days move on.

Will be interesting to see the mood of the crowd at the Sox home opener. How much do they 'believe' in the team right now. But if the Sox keep playing well Sox Nation will come on board with them.

This comment is probably out of place, but at least it's still the American League. Phillies playing in Yankee stadium. How'd you like to be the pitcher facing Kyle Schwarber in that ballpark? Good luck.

I guess I didn't miss anything today except for Kopech serving up batting practice. Ouch.

I understand the reason for having an open date after the Home Opener. But there is almost nothing worse in baseball than playing a stinker of a home opener in front of your fans who have waited months to see their heroes... and then smelling up the place AND THEN having a whole additional next-day to let that smell linger.

And Home Run Derby is only fun when it’s YOUR guys who are slamming the long ones.

LOL 5 games. He made it 5 games and didn’t even play the field.

Eloy is like the Pelican's Zion Williamson. They are both large muscular men on large frames and their muscles often can't take that strain. That's why they are hurt so often. They need some kind of special trainers or workout routines to try to cope better.

Lynn picked up right where Kopech left off the other day.

Quite a let down after splitting with the Astros.

Perhaps it's a communication issue. Sox pitchers don't seem to know when pitching batting-practice is over and the real game begins.

And is Joe Kelly EVER going to find his 'stuff'? Sox pitching is leaking all over right now.

He’s on a real team friendly contract and a lot can happen between now and the end of 2024, but if things keep going this way, it’s hard to see his option getting picked up.

Which would have been an absolutely absurd notion back when he signed the extension.

Pelicans have had two supremely talented guys that simply cannot stay on the basketball court without getting hurt... Zion... and Anthony Davis (when he was there).

Whether it is body type or training or subconscious desire... they simply do not stay on the floor for long.

It would be a tough PR thing in NOLA if they let Zion go... but it might be the right move. I'm sure the Lakers wouldn't mind trying him as a replacement for LeBron one day.

And the Sox have Eloy and Moncada that have had a problem staying on the field. In terms of a baseball-ready-body-type you just can’t do better than Tim Anderson and Luis Robert Jr.

After a rough loss yesterday, the White Sox came from behind to beat Baltimore 7-6 in the 10th. They looked much better doing it, too.

The Good: There is plenty of talent on the Sox. Still have much upside potential.

Benintendi and Burger (along with Cease) have been outstanding so far. And Grandal is actually hitting around .300 so far instead of being stuck around .200 for much of the season like the past couple years.

The Not-So-Good: The pitchers lately have been walking way too many guys. A couple of the starters have not looked good at all, while a couple others have been great. Relief pitching has been questionable too often. Need to settle that down.

The Plan: Get the Sox who are on the DL back on the field and get the full team back. Stay within striking range of the Division lead without falling too far back.

And let’s see Tim Anderson stealing lots of bases and driving opposition pitchers crazy. Plus, all the guys... STAY HEALTHY NOW.

Relief pitching has been a real concern for a couple of years now. And, yes, far too many walks for the whole staff. Is it the pitchers, Katz, or some combination? A professional should be able to put the ball in the zone. Period. If they can figure that out, make the proper adjustments, and STAY HEALTHY, they can contend.

Baltimore got so many walks this series from Sox pitchers that if you multiplied the distance from Home Plate to first base by the number of walks Sox gave them... Orioles could have walked on foot all the way back to Baltimore.
