Mizzou gets Princeton now. Horrible.
That’s the luck of the draw. How far you make it in the tournament doesn’t indicate how good you are

Arizona could have beaten anyone this year but they are out in the first round. They were a hot team at the end of the year.

Root for Northwestern. Illinois schools deserve our support, especially if our own school can't perform

Actually, you're wrong. When any Illinois school does well, it is good for the state as a whole. Our rivals are Indiana and Iowa, not Northwestern. Northwestern is like the little brother we beat up on but they are a good story and the equivalent of a cinderella team as they were in 2017

I won't root against them, but I don't hate the thought of them having to sit at home after this weekend

I can't imagine the burden that young man is now going to carry through life with him. One moment of panic and poor judgement, nationally televised and immortal. I mean, if you're trapped and that's your choice, make sure you can wing it at least 80 feet.
He had a timeout and an open player across from him, even though that player made no attempt to come to him and help.

Squawks can't seem to get over the hump against Satan. 2.31 left, down 8.

NW Wildcats advance to the 2nd round. They just play well as a team... much better than we did.

NW wins. They did not look good in the process. There were a lot of heavily contested drives ending in bad shots when they had open players on the wings. I'm not sure if Boise St got more offensive rebounds than NW got defensive rebounds. It sure felt like it. I'm glad we didn't get those refs. They called several phantom fouls, all against NW. The NW players would go up for a block and then pulled back when they realized they would not get it. The refs called the fouls anyway. The replays show there was no contact in each case - body or hand.

It helps to play Boise St instead of a P5 school.
Sorry, I was referring to the entire season. They played more like a team than we did. Their shot selection was better and TO's much fewer than us. Guess that it is why their coach won BIG's coach of the year.

You are correct, Boise was an easier draw than the Hogs but they earned it. NU over performed this year and we under achieved.

Boise State still looking for their first-ever NCAA Tournament win. Now 0-9 in NCAA Tournament. They mentioned on broadcast that Boise State has longest active losing streak among teams that have never won an NCAA Tournament game.

I get what you are saying but they had a favorable 1st round matchup compared to Iowa, Illinois, PSU, MSU.

No arguments there. We will never know what the team could have done without Mayer's hero ball antics.
