4 point game!
Overtime would be good for us.4 point game!
Texas is an athletic team, but their 6'11 Center (5th year senior) isn't really a standout (5th leading scorer) and he's pretty lean. Kaluma is strong and athletic and a standout, but he's 6'7.I feel very differently about this. Tomi hasn't performed the best defensively against strong, athletic frontcourt players, and from what I can see, Texas definitely has such players. We'll see though. I hope that you're right and I'm wrong.
This is all about opinion,I remember same was said about the football conference not too long ago and you see how that played out…my point is the game still has to be played.Getting healthy? Yes. Toughest conference? Not arguable at all, IMHO.
I’ll be honest I don’t think Illinois can match either of these teams toughness. Defense has been soft all year. 1st round loss incoming.
I think it cuts both ways. I like us on the offensive boards against these teams if we play hard and I think Tomi can create major mismatches and Morez can be a force. What does concern me is how we're going to handle either teams aggressiveness taking it the ball to the rack. Both Tomi and Morez have struggled with their positioning at times and have been prone to bad fouls. I think having our bigs stay out of foul trouble will be a huge key as the way Texas and Xavier are both playing they might be able to rack up the fouls.I think our frontcourt is going to be an advantage against either of these teams. Ivisic and a healthy Morez should dominate inside and out. I haven't seen anyone that guards like Bam does. All of this with the caveat that we play up to our capabilities of course.
Our defensive efficiency dropped significantly when we started having health issues. I don't see that as a guaranteed 1st round loss. I'm hoping we will see an uptick in our defensive prowess with the healthy practice time this past week. Sorry, I just can't do the doom and gloom thing. Perhaps the Cards fall from grace has you feeling pessimistic?I’ll be honest I don’t think Illinois can match either of these teams toughness. Defense has been soft all year. 1st round loss incoming.
Texas doesn't scare me. Xavier doesn't scare me.
Illinois scares me.
To continue with another Breaking Bad reference....we are Walter White. Equal parts amazing....and terrible.
Hopefully we are the brilliant chemist Friday night.
Bonafide top 5 pick.Bingo …
Slight edit … Tre Johnson scares me …
That kid can flat out score …
Xavier has had some foul problems. It's been an uphill climb for Xavier all game.is texas good or is xavier having a bad game?
I think Texas is playing well, but they also play like Wile E Coyote on a runaway train. Feverish pace but completely out of controlis texas good or is xavier having a bad game?
