Potential First Four Team Mississippi State gets obliterated by Alabama, their resume cannot improve and they will be left to the Committee's fate to ensure they are in and if they have to play in the First Four or not.

I was blanking on our other Big Ten Championship game losses besides 99, 08 and 2004 and when I looked it up I was reminded that we also lost to MSU in the 2000 championship. Can't believe I forgot that one because it was the only Big Ten championship game I've ever attended in person.

But to be fair, we lost by 17 so it wasn't all that memorable. I think the lone highlight was Cleotis Brown hit a buzzer beating three before halftime to make it a ten point game.
As I was putting that all together, I was genuinely shocked that we were near the top or tied for a lot of the championship milestones. I knew we were good in the first few years, but I just figured the Groce years, plus the tail end of the Weber and early Underwood years left us in the dust.

I know I should probably be cheering for Sparty today (to jump up to Q1) and for IU later (to stay in Q1)... but I just can't. Love the 13 seed cinderella run, hate the Hoosiers too much. Go underdogs!

Edit: fun fact, if IU and MSU both lose today and IU drops out of the NET top 30, we'll probably finish the season without a single home Q1 game.

That would be the rotten cherry on top of our season

Can we pull up my previous post when I said I wouldn’t be surprised if OSU won the entire thing and stole a bid?

They have as much offensive talent as anyone.

Am I in the minority that thinks the Big 10 is just not that good this year? As conference play progressed it just kept on becoming more and more apparent to me. Yes there is parity, but is it parity of a not so good conference?

Next year if this OSU team stay together they are going to be trouble in the conference play.

Ohio State is the first ever team to play on Wednesday in the Big Ten Tournament to make it to the Semifinals.

They'll have a daunting task though, playing their 4th game in four days against the Number 1 team, Purdue that will only be playing its second.

It sure is refreshing to see a Cinderella emerge in the BTT........no-t-osu is playing as a team and are in an attack mode on offense AND defense.........being down with Key out and today losing Sensabaugh with a knee problem I have to congratulate Holtman and the players for overcoming major adversity to be the first 13 seed to reach the semi-finals is nothing short of miraculous and shows our loss to them maybe was them beating us instead of us beating us......or at least give more weight to them playing with nothing to lose..........one of their players just said exactly that " nothing to lose ".......wow , what a novel approach to winning a BTT BB game.......or really any game.......

I'll be rooting for them to win their last 2 games in the BTT and cop that automatic berth........This is a fun story......it really really is...

I'm in agreement. It's hard for me to say that I enjoy watching another B10 team play, but I've really enjoyed seeing OSU make this run. Very very reminiscent of our 98-99 team that made their run to the title. If OSU can keep their young guys, I would not be shocked at all if they're a contender for the 2025 natty. They're coming together really well and playing great ball.

And not to dwell on us, but I think OSU and Illinois are examples of young teams where one start gelling and coming together as a team by end of season and one that doesn't make that leap. Really couldn't be happier for them on this run, though I am jealous that we aren't playing with the same team mentality and tenacity right now. That said, next year will be a similar story for us- young team with a lot of talent. So hopefully we'll get a similar long run in the BTT next year

Missouri v Tennessee is a very entertaining game. Lead changes regularly. And you are not allowed to foul apparently

This probably locks FAU as a higher seed than Illinois, assuming North Texas wins the other semifinal, even a loss wouldn't be a bad one. UNT is a bit of a paradox, they are not far from the cut line, but a win over UAB and loss to FAU is almost certainly not enough for At-Large, and while a win over FAU might make them good enough for an At-Large, a wins means they'd be Automatic and thus that question becomes irrelevant.
North Texas goes down to UAB in the other semifinal in CUSA, upon further glance, it should not matter too much for FAU, as UAB is NET 57 in their own right, so it wouldn't be too bad of a loss if they did fall.

This eliminates any outside hail mary shot at an At-Large for North Texas which is good for teams near the cut line worried about committee funky decision-making.

Missouri knocks out Tennessee in the SEC Tournament.

Tennessee is an odd team, the analytics love team and they seem to remain very sticky there, entered the day #5 team in KenPom and #3 in NET.

Yet they are 5-7 in their last 12 games. They also lost their Point Guard, Zakai Zeigler, to a torn ACL on 2/28. They entered the day as the last Number 3 on BracketMatrix, I would guess they'll fall into the 4 now. They feel like a prime Round 1 upset candidate (plus it is Rick Barnes), analytics be darned.

Missouri likely solidifies their spot on the 7 line.
