We were in position to win and then terrible shot selection and mental mistakes. *anguish* Feel badly for the guys. They really fought and were dominant in stretches.

On the up side, it's fabulous to see the Hall like that, packed and rocking. To have a team with the leadership we see from Trent. We're good and getting better. Am really glad to have played this AZ team. They're really tough. This will all serve the boys well in the trenches of February and March.

Man what really sucks is you get a sold out crowd and that happens in the final minutes. Good game, we should have lost by 15. Shooting was insane, but game plan needs to be Kofi. Just wasn’t his night.

Just my opinion, but some ridiculous shot making (which is a part of basketball and still counts) overshadowed us getting pretty thoroughly outplayed in this game.
I think you’re partially right but I also think we will have plenty of nights this year where we make a bunch of threes. It was our defensive/rebounding effort along with Kofi and Hawkins on offense that hurt us tonight. Trent and Plummer have been raining threes all season

So let’s hear it guys. Why did we lose this one? Poor adjustments by Brad? Hosed by the refs? Turnovers? /s

none of the above. We played a great game against a team that was just a little bit greater. Even though this goes as an L, I like a lot of the stuff from this game. Good takeaways to go forward with. Let’s all take a breather (hopefully) for the next few and get revved up for Mizzou!!
Go Illini

The no call on Kofi’s shot at 2:05 that led to the 3-1 break was simply atrocious. Obviously we had our chances after that to come back, but that was what I felt sealed the game.

Kofi being such a dominating presence doesn’t mean that fouls suddenly aren’t fouls.

Not real upset. We had a chance against a really good team. College game is all about how you’re playing come March. To me it’s real simple. If we can clean up all these silly unforced turnovers ( like Plummer holding the ball at mid court for 5 seconds ) we could be really good come March. If we can’t clean them up we won’t get past the first game.

4 guys scored. 4. Shameful and embarrassing for the remainder of the roster. Disgraceful really.

Really don’t understand this… would you rather Plummer give it up and have Monte shooting 3s…? We got good looks almost the entire game. Sure, Payne was a pretty big liability and non-factor on the offensive end, but just because only 4 guys scored doesn’t mean we didn’t execute. Honestly, the lack of a pure PG was the biggest missing factor for us, as turnovers really killed us in the worst possible moments.

Imagine having 3 Plummers. Thats what the '05 team was like. What a ray of sunshine that kid is.
No, those guys could also play defense.

Tough game against a very, very good team. Arizona does everything we do but did it a bit better, great interior D, scored from inside the arc, rebounded. We’re just a bit too weak against bigger guys and a bit too easy to guard if you can stay at home against our shooters. But we really lost this one on the defensive end tonight.

You can't have these kinds of mental mistakes against a team the caliber of an Arizona. A shame as this was certainly a winnable game.

I don't know what Plummer was waiting for on the 5 second call. We have to smarten up and clean up the silly lapses or we'll get burned.

Beyond that. we got guys that can fill it up. We went toe-to-toe with the #11 team with only four scoring. I think we'll be fine.
I thought the defensive player wasn’t quite close enough to be counting.
