A year ago this past week we blew the doors off Duke at Cameron Indoor and then four days later lost to Miznoz. Then blew the doors off Minnesota at the Hall the following week and proceeded to get owned at the RAC. After that Rutgers game I vividly recall the weeping and gnashing of teeth on the board, which I thought was unwarranted. We had the pieces, just needed to play defense and get tougher.
Think of the turmoil this team has had with injuries and rotating lineups this fall. Does anyone really feel worse about where it and program are this evening than they did a year ago tomorrow after losing in St. Louis? Everything has worked against them since early November and yet, with merely a few tweaks and a bit more discipline this team is just going to be a juggernaut.
Hate losing, particularly b/c it was a one-possession game in the 60th minute against what is easily a Top 5 team
despite all the TOs, Kofi having an off day, CoHawk disappearing, failure to fight through screens, and that catastrophic DMW technical. I loved every minute of watching that game this afternoon. The Hall was electric, our boys were absolutely dominant in stretches, and it felt like old times again.
So, yeah, hate losing, but boy do I feel good about these boys and our coach. Felt good and optimistic a year ago at this time. Feel much, much better now. Am so looking forward to January and February.
