Packers lose a tough one. If the Vikings lose tonight we are back in 1st.

Not trying to get too far ahead, but a 6 game win streak would be really nice (and not too far-fetched). That would put as at 9-3 going into two tough games against the Rams and Packers.

I ran through the same scenario in my head earlier. Would be so ideal.

I just don't think they are good enough to run off a string of wins like that. In fact I think it's 50-50 they lay an egg at Buffalo next week or win.

I don’t know. The Bills are really bad. Worse than the Jets. I think the Bills will be like the Cardinals game. Even if the Bears play horribly, the Bills will basically do everything in their power to lose.

So I don’t think they’ll lose to the Bills. However, I could see the Bears only winning their 3 gimme games (Bills, Giants, 9ers) and losing the rest. They’ve only beaten one non-awful team this year (Seattle) and they had to get a little lucky to do it.

Mitch Trubisky might be the best rushing QB in the league. A great athlete, picks his spots well, and runs tough and effectively when he goes, with a good awareness of how many yards he needs.

It makes defending him a lot tougher, and reduces what he needs to do with his arm to produce a good offense.

Unfortunately the more times he is forced to run the more likely we are to see Chase Daniel for an extended time. The ability to scramble and make plays is great but Mitch continually getting hit by NFL safeties and linebackers will eventually end poorly.

He doesn't continually get hit though. He's pretty smart about knowing when to slide or go out of bounds. Could be wrong, but I don't remember one time this season where he got hit so hard that it made me say "Please don't do that again Mitch". His head is always on a swivel and even when he fights for yards he seems to do it without giving up his body.

I would say the Bucs are a non-awful team. only 3-4 but every loss was a 1 possession game except for us.

It was really nice to hear Tony Romo say we were a playoff team. I liked his stat about us being 1 of 3 teams to be leading in the 2nd half of every game. We really should be 5-2 or 6-1. But as a Bears fan, I can't help but feel like we have a bunch more "we should've won that one" games and finish 7-9 or something like that.

I'm almost certain our offense is going to keep improving. So it's up to our night and day defense. We've played 4.5 games of great defense and 2.5 games of terrible defense. Which one will we see more of for the rest of the season?

After yesterday's games, Trubisky is ranked #8 in ESPN's total NFL quarterback ratings. It uses a bunch of metrics that I don't understand but shows just how far he has come since the first few weeks of the season. I was surprised to see Aaron Rogers ranked only at 18.

I feel confident in 9 wins, win the VERY winnable games (3 left against BAD teams) and beat Detroit at least once.

Edit: math error, have to win one more. Still, should happen.

I don’t understand what the Lions are doing. Trade for a DT and then a week later trade away arguably your best WR?

Golladay and Jones are both better WR at this point in their respective careers, Tate was leaving at the end of the year regardless, and they had a need at DT. It's a great trade for the Lions. Tate had an insane target share, something like 25%, thats AB or Julio territory. Not sure what his depth of target and YAC are but he definitely was a volume guy. Honestly, it might help the Lions this year.

Tate has been one of the top YAC guys in the league for years.

Under the free agent compensation system, they were going to get a 4th round pick for Tate if he were to leave after the season anyway.

Nathan Peterman likely to start at QB for the Bills on Sunday.

Which is all the more reason to sit Mack for another week and save him for the stretch of 3 straight divisional games against Detroit (2x) and Minnesota.

Tate seems to be the hardest receiver to bring down in the league. Hardly ever see him tackled by one guy.

Unless he's healthy. Then play him. He isn't some fancy trophy to keep locked up.

There's definitely different levels of healthy. Guys play pretty severely injured in the playoffs because, well its the playoffs. Heck, Rodgers was not (and might still not) be close to 100% earlier in the year.

Point is, unless he's actually 100% (or darn near close), you sit him in a very favorable matchup.

Even if he's healthy, he doesn't see the field unless absolutely necessary. Same goes for Allen Robinson if he's not 100%. You can beat the Bills without those guys. You'd be hard pressed to beat the Lions and Vikings without them.

Rappaport states the Kyle Long is out 6-8 weeks, Nagy says week to week. I suppose week to week could be 6-8 weeks.

And the penalties continue in the second half.
