Knew he was going to get it when Wiconsin beat Michigan before lets get ready to rumble started on the sidelines. Gotta say that whenever Michigan gets beat I don't complain to much. And then Wisky beat Purdue to clinch a tie. Probably in the bag then. Many Wisconians will say that the only reason that they lost to lowly Nebby was because the MVP was hurt. I whole heartedly disagree with that. Nebby was missing it's best player the whole game. No excuses. Nebby was just better that day.
So I bet that Gard will get COY?
McConnell and all those steals was pretty impressive. My complaint would be why no DMW on the D team? His role since he came here was to defend the best player on the other team no matter what position that player played. DMW has guarded positions 1-4 his entire career. That was wrong. Trent is a tremendous “player” defense being part of that, but McConnell is a great defender also. My 2 cents

I am ok with this. Would have loved to have Kofi win that but you take Davis off of the Badgers and think about where they fall to in the B1G pecking order.
I personally think Ivey is the best player in the league. Him, Murray, and Davis are somewhat similar but I would give Ivey the edge on athleticism. He was never going to win this though because of Edey and Williams.
I honestly think Underwood should get Coach of the Year. We won head to head vs. Wisconsin. He dealt with more injuries / players out and worked his tail off. Maybe his best coaching performance ever.

This is great to use in recruiting the transfer portal this year and the future that Plummer came here and made all Big Ten. Come to Illinois and you will fit right into something special. Awesome news.
Exactly. Big difference between the two. Whatever Kofi did, he did with 600 pounds or more hanging on him. Getting shoved. Arms slapped. Elbows in the back and ribs.

I do agree that Gard rose above what was expected...but they were the luckiest team in college basketball history, played a soft schedule, and though it doesn't matter for this year, his team last year led a mutiny against him, and when he could have locked up the out right title, got beat at Kohl on Senior day by the worst team in the big 10...give me Underwood with all our issues this year and still win the Big 10 and our insane 3 year record.

As he should be. They were picked 10th preseason and they won a piece of the Big Ten championship and will have a top 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. We are all homers, but that would be well deserved.
How does BU not get coach of the year..loses Ayo...Miller transfers...replaces asst coaching staff...pre season All American point guard concussed most of the year..All-American center concussed for a few games...whole team had covid.... the only obstacles Gard had this year was getting slapped!

Underwood is probably second in the voting. We were ranked 10-11 in the preseason top 25 and are now 16. Wisconsin didn’t receive a single vote preseason and finished 12th. That’s why. Hard to argue imo.
