Assuming we don’t beat Purdue we need couple things to happen this week to avoid the 8/9 game. Michigan state or Rutgers to lose one game this week. And beat Michigan. In that scenario we have the tiebreakers over them.
About the same probability of finishing 10th/11th as we do finishing 3rd/4th. Wacky, wacky year.
Our best course if we go 1-1 this week is to have either Nebraska or Ohio St beat MSU and we can slide into the 7 seed.Leaving everything else in the simulator the same except for Maryland losing at PSU, I got this path for the Illini:
(8) Illinois vs. (9) Michigan at 11:00 am on Thursday
(8) Illinois vs. (1) Purdue at 11:00 am on Friday
... kill me now, lol.
If also beat Purdue:
(5) Illinois vs. (12) Nebraska or (13) Ohio State at 1:30 pm on Thursday
(5) Illinois vs. (4) Maryland at 1:30 pm on Friday
Safe to say our BTT prospects got a lot worse after losing to OSU, and we could REALLY use a win or two in Chicago come Selection Sunday.
I'd take a run in march for sure!If you had to choose one, would you rather win the B1G Tournament OR make the sweet 16.
I think I would rather hang another Banner.
This makes me want to destroy Michigan.
This is just one more pebble of sand in the beachfront property known as " condemned scUMland villages , a cesspool of cheaply priced immorally driven wasteland of moronic entitled pieces of scUM "............proceed at your own risk and be prepared for decisions made based on falsehoods and WWE handshake lines , with the leader's having a history of payoffs , bribery and a total lack of anything that even pretends to be moral and just ..............prices are cheap , based on the regular prevailing value of similarly priced beaches in other parts of the college sports world that are free of scUM's terrible past.......Please call 1-800-scUMbums and leave a message if you dare...............This makes me want to destroy Michigan.

I think it's easily Sweet Sixteen for the sake of the program. As others have said, we need to get the monkey off of our back that the Illini are a regular season team that never makes the Second Weekend ... I know it's dumb to assume that off of TWO seasons, but people definitely say it. I'm also not sure if my heart can take Michigan squeaking into the Tournament and making another Sweet Sixteen while we get bounced before that. I was REALLY hoping they'd miss out on March Madness. This makes me want to destroy Michigan.
This statement is just so sad I had to laugh. We're to the point where we're hoping Nebraska can get a win so we can sneak into the 7th seed..how quickly things changeOur best course if we go 1-1 this week is to have either Nebraska or Ohio St beat MSU and we can slide into the 7 seed.
Well I guess I should say if that happens I should have 7 at minimum. Lots of ways to end up 4-6 in that scenario too. But that OSU loss definitely put us behind the 8 ball. This statement is just so sad I had to laugh. After the Texas game, we legit looked as good as anyone in the Big Ten. Unfortunately, the PSU loss just after set our new pattern of alternating between good and absent, haha.Just thought I would post Sports Illustrated preseason basketball picks in Big. National ranking first then Big finish 2nd
