Kowalczyk announces 2016 Rose Bowl tickets to be sold for 1/2 price.
Best parts of the interview:
Interim AD: As you know, Univ. of Illinois is about processes
Q: Was it your call, or someone else's call, how did you guys decide?
Interim AD: That's kind of the key word, there were a lot of calls
Interim AD: The kids are clearly behind Bill and supportive of that decision, that was the overriding factor
Q: Did you talk with players at all?
Interim AD: No, I have not spoken to the players
The Adele song "Hello" just came on the radio at work and it feels like it's my childhood Illinois fandom talking to my current self.
It isn't 10 schools chasing after 9 coaches in a game of musical chairs. If we're not high in the pecking order, it's because the athletic department is a national laughingstock of mismanagement. Someone needed to grow a pair and make the tough call to move forward.I think this might be OK. You see how many open FBS coaching jobs there are this off season? Do you think Illinois would have high pecking order in that?
We'd end up with our 4th, 5th or even 6th choice, and land another Tim Beckman.

These guys have got to work on the press conference...lol...laughing stock program right now. Why even field a team? Maybe we can drop down a level so we can win more often.
I'm so sick of the "how could an interim AD hire a real.." WE HAD A PERMANENT AD. Why the hell was he fired for a clean slate, only to retain a carryover from a scandal plagued staff? IT MAKES NO GD SENSE.
I imagine, AND none of them resorted to a bizzare two-year contract because they were pretty sure the permanent AD, once hired, is almost certainly going to want to fire that coach.Surely other schools have hired football coaches with an interim ad?
Does this mean everyone else turned us down?
