So if the conference doesn’t do as well, it doesn’t get as much money, and therefore is not as greedy trying to maximize said money, thus minimizing the conference trying to screw teams such as Illinois? That is the argument for us losing in the playoff?Given a choice between BIG prestige (and $) I’d rather see them loose. B$G greed led to those outrageous calls that cost us a win over Michigan.
“Doing just fine” is not “doing as well as they could be”.meh
the B1G has been losing big time bowl games for +40 years since the PAC owned us in the Rose Bowl . our conference prestige and bank accounts are doing just fine
I don’t disagree, but why actively root against it and cheer when it doesn’t happen?SEC is tops, BIG is clear #2, and that would not have changed even if UM and tOSU had both won.
The day I'm forced to choose between cheering for Michigan and taking a machete to the face is the day I finally no longer have to smell their bs.All of you that hate on the Big Ten during bowl season make no sense to me…
The outcomes to yesterdays games were very bad for the conference, and thus, Illinois.
This board suffers from extreme cases of cutting of our nose to spite our face.
the scUM players said they beat themselves and mentioned they still think they're a better team than TCU. no one seems to want to give TCU any credit for the winTypical Harbaugh couldnt bring himself to say Michigan lost to better team. " if only this or that had fallen in our favor." ..blah blah. Same way he gave Illinois no credit in our game with them.
I don’t disagree, but why actively root against it and cheer when it doesn’t happen?
agree 100%Because if you're a Bears fan, you don't cheer for the Packers? Tell a 90s Bulls fan to cheer for the Pistons or Knicks. Tell A Hawks fan in the old Norris division to cheer for the Wings or NorthStars. Or a Cubs fan to cheer for the Cards. Or an Illini fan to cheer for Hoosier basketball. You don't cheer for a hated rival. Eff those guys.
I want Michigan to lose every game they play. The Bears don’t get benefits for the NFC North doing well.
The 90’s Bulls didn't get benefits from the NBA Central division doing well.
Comparing collegiate teams to professional franchises is not an equal comparison.
I want to best for Illinois athletics, and unfortunately in the current landscape of how it works economically, rooting for the conference is part of that package… Illinois does better when the conference does better.
Big ten doing well in the playoffs is good for the top 3-4 teams. I don't think it moves the needle for IllinoisThe Bears don’t get benefits for the NFC North doing well.

Harbaugh is 58 now.View attachment 22435
you mean it’s not normal for a 48 year old guy to bring his mitt to a baseball playoff game ?
Agreed for the most part. The only "possible" exception is if they play ND.There never has been, nor will there ever be, any planetary alignment under which I root for SCUM to win.
Never.
correct . that is the only time I ever want them to winAgreed for the most part. The only "possible" exception is if they play ND.
