Bowl Games & CFB Playoff

What a disappointment in both games today. Felt a collapse coming when the Buckeyes only got a field goal on that drive before Georgia’s winning drive. Brutal

2nd and 3rd down play calls for OSU was head scratching. A few yards would have been helpful, but Ruggles' nerves got the best of him, so not sure if it would have mattered. Amazing playoff games. Imagine what it will look like with the expansion!
Yeah, basically forcing him into a 50 yarder from the far left hash mark…not the best plan in hindsight

Day coached up until the last 3 downs when they got to the 30. They basically were running into the blitz. They should have went for more and gave their kicker a better chance. Sorry but TCU is not beating that. Looks like it will be Georgia again.

After the fail, the holder appeared to be upset with himself, and the kicker lifted him up and encouraged him. Might be nothing, but…

I’d like to see a close view of the catch and placement.

I just rewatched the kick. The snap and hold were good. It was just a pull hook kick. Really no explanation for such a bad miss, outside of nerves getting to kicker.

Don’t forget OSU was without their All American receiver on the last drive, too. Took away their best option.

I have always been a Big Ten fan in football and basketball but I have finally realized something that others have been saying for a long time. The so-called powerhouses in Michigan and Ohio State are only powerhouses in the Big. They beat up on the other teams and all the cupcakes in the non conference preseason. When they get to the bowl games or the fake National Championship games that is truly decided by a group of men who think they know it all. The Big 2 lose time and time again! Michigan has lost 6 straight bowl games. Was Michigan or OSU really top 4 teams? I have my doubts. Oh Michigan will say they were robbed of that touchdown but both teams generally get the benefit of all close calls. Michigan won't say they got the benefit of 2 non calls for pass interference when the defender clearly was holding the arm of the receiver and never let it go. If you remember the same thing happened against the Illini at Micvhigan that turned the game around in Michigan's favor. Both teams will whine and cry but I don't think either of them were in the top 6.

eh, they were both pretty good teams , but neither were as good as their fan bases thought

I hate both those programs , but it’s not as if it was a stretch to have them as #2 & #3,

TCU just having a cinderella season with a first year coach that seemingly caught lightening in a bottle .

The fact that both teams were in a position to drive down the field and win the game shows that they belonged in those spots.

Definitely not overrated. We were 1 successful (and difficult) drive for a TD and one FG away from having an all B1G championship.

That being said, I’m A-OK with both of them losing. 😁

13-0 SEC Georgia absolutely dominated tOSU. I mean yeah they did need that split second timeout call on the fake punt to go their way. Oh and also the Ohio State safety to slip and fall on the turf on that 76 yard TD bomb. And they probably would have lost if Ohio State hadn’t called terrible plays after Stroud ran the ball to Georgia’s 31 yard line with two timeouts and thirty seconds left. And of course Ohio State had to miss the field goal so Georgia could win by one point. But sure otherwise tOSU was a total fraud who had no business being there.

The most legendary Saturday in CFB playoff history with back-to-back all-time slugfests that both went down to the last play and the takeaway from that is “that squares it, proof B1G is weak and inferior.”
