Just like Harbaugh screwing up on a couple of plays, so did Ryan. Can't believe OSU did not try to get a good 5 to 10 yards closer at the end.I don't understand playing conservative at the end to set up a 50 yard FG attempt to win. Even if I had Justin Tucker as my kicker, I would get him as close as possible.
same way we did IndianaI know I’m in the minority on this site, but I actually hate that the B1G !!!! their pants in the playoffs….
How does OSU allow that drive?
This. OSU drove it right down the field, only to seemingly pump the breaks once they got into what they viewed was FG range.I don't understand playing conservative at the end to set up a 50 yard FG attempt to win. Even if I had Justin Tucker as my kicker, I would get him as close as possible.
Yeah, basically forcing him into a 50 yarder from the far left hash mark…not the best plan in hindsight2nd and 3rd down play calls for OSU was head scratching. A few yards would have been helpful, but Ruggles' nerves got the best of him, so not sure if it would have mattered. Amazing playoff games. Imagine what it will look like with the expansion!
After the fail, the holder appeared to be upset with himself, and the kicker lifted him up and encouraged him. Might be nothing, but…2nd and 3rd down play calls for OSU was head scratching. I just rewatched the kick. The snap and hold were good. It was just a pull hook kick. Really no explanation for such a bad miss, outside of nerves getting to kicker. After the fail, the holder appeared to be upset with himself, and the kicker lifted him up and encouraged him. Might be nothing, but…
I’d like to see a close view of the catch and placement.
Don’t forget OSU was without their All American receiver on the last drive, too. Took away their best option.Day coached up until the last 3 downs when they got to the 30. They basically were running into the blitz. They should have went for more and gave their kicker a better chance. Sorry but TCU is not beating that. Looks like it will be Georgia again.
13-0 SEC Georgia absolutely dominated tOSU. I mean yeah they did need that split second timeout call on the fake punt to go their way. Oh and also the Ohio State safety to slip and fall on the turf on that 76 yard TD bomb. And they probably would have lost if Ohio State hadn’t called terrible plays after Stroud ran the ball to Georgia’s 31 yard line with two timeouts and thirty seconds left. And of course Ohio State had to miss the field goal so Georgia could win by one point. But sure otherwise tOSU was a total fraud who had no business being there.I have always been a Big Ten fan in football and basketball but I have finally realized something that others have been saying for a long time. The so-called powerhouses in Michigan and Ohio State are only powerhouses in the Big. They beat up on the other teams and all the cupcakes in the non conference preseason. When they get to the bowl games or the fake National Championship games that is truly decided by a group of men who think they know it all. The Big 2 lose time and time again!
Given a choice between BIG prestige (and $) I’d rather see them loose. B$G greed led to those outrageous calls that cost us a win over Michigan.I hate both teams, but an all-BIG final and champion would have done a lot for the conferences prestige.
