I just got back from "Becoming Led Zeppelin" and as much as I love that band, you forget the absolute powerhouse they were and still are.
Upon your recommendation, I found this on Netflix and watched it last night.
Amazing. I don't recall any of their recordings being as good as the multiple live, close-up videos they showed in this movie.
Their first performance live in denmark (still named the Yardbirds) was great, and the audience looked like "what is happening?!"
IMO if you even remotely enjoy Led Zeppelin, this is a must-see.

I just got out of "A Complete Unkown" and I must say it was very good. I don't have a strong opinion of Dylan either way, but I was all in from stary to finish. It was great to Edward Norton, I'm sure he is doing stuff on services I don't have, but he definitely one of my favorites.
I looked for this on Netflix last night, but it is not there yet.
However, they do have a Dylan movie chronicalling a tour he did (1975?) called Rolling Thunder Review.
I am about halfway thru this and the music so far has been very impressive - most of it way better than his recordings.
(except Blood on the Tracks, one of my favorites).

Thank you, I will definitely check this out.

I watched Happy Gilmore 2 the other day and I'm still can't get over how terrible it was. I knew it wouldn't be good, but it was embarrassingly bad. I'm bummed. I knew we see the old players, but I didn't think it would be the same jokes. I was hoping he would be a little more original to appeal to the younger generations.

Did he fight Drew Carey? That would be funny

Sadly he did not. But, if you were going to retell a joke, that is genius. I don't know how much the youngin's skip school and watch the price is right these days, but I approve.

Definitely a bad movie but I went in with the absolute lowest of expectations and it wasn't as bad as I anticipated. I do wish they'd stop making these obvious money-grab movies. This movie really didn't need to exist.

That said the one bright spot was Christopher McDonald, who was excellent. The movie they should have made instead was a full-on Shooter McGavin redemption tale.

Man, my wife and I just manage to watch different stuff (except for when we intentionally pick something out to watch together that we'd both like), I don't know what you all are doing wrong. My wife has seen everything Downton Abbey and I think I've maybe seen a cumulative 5 minutes of it? And I showed my wife one sketch from ITYSL, she said "well, I can see why you would like it," and she hasn't been subjected to Tim Robinson since.

I haven't been to a movie theatre since before Covid but just watched a segment on Morning Joe where they had Billy Zane on previewing his performance as Marlon Brando in the new movie " Waltzing with Brando "........the movie opens today and it zones in on a 5 year period of his life where he builds a house in Tahiti and why he did it......

I was always a fan of Brando's as I felt he was misunderstood as a person and was more of a growl than bite personality.....

the clips they showed this morning were uncanny in how much Zane was made up to look like Brando.......this might be the movie that lures me back to the theatre.....it really really might..........
