Homecoming 2019
- Chicago
Gimme that 10 seed please, our odds of making a sweet sixteen increase dramatically vs the 9.
Most likely not. Our resume is heavily carried by the UCLA and Texas wins. I think take either out, and we’re outside looking in. We just don’t have enough good wins otherwise. If it wasn't for the overtime win against Texas, would we be in?
Nope. Those two wins vs Texas and UCLA have been out only crutch. If the bubble wasn't so weak (I guess we can call it parity)....we'd already have been done.If it wasn't for the overtime win against Texas, would we be in?
This is why I hope the tournament doesn’t expand anymore or if it does limit the P5 teams. The bubble is so weak any worse would mean the regular season doesn’t matter at all to get in.Nope. Let's just get in and let the chips fall where they may. If it wasn't for two furious, unlikely comebacks....we would have lost what....6 in a row? We have to win the first game before even contemplating the 2nd. When we start hoping for a worse seed to give us a better shot....that should tell us something. Let's just get in and win one before we contemplate two.Gimme that 10 seed please, our odds of making a sweet sixteen increase dramatically vs the 9.
I agree with you 100%. We are the beneficiary this year because it's a very, very watered down field. Parity at it's finest. Is this NIL and portal related? Who knows. If we were a locked in 3 or 4 seed right now and we could puff our chests out a bit....I'd say that a quality mid major should get the nod. No expansion to get more teams in.This is why I hope the tournament doesn’t expand anymore or if it does limit the P5 teams. If we lost ten more games would we be in?If it wasn't for the overtime win against Texas, would we be in?
can we opt to play just one half of the first game to get to round two ?Let's just get in and let the chips fall where they may. not necessarily. All of our losses with exception to potentially Ohio state have come against tournament teams. If you're going to lose, might as well be against someone competing in the tourney. If it wasn't for the overtime win against Texas, would we be in?
As a guy whose softball league puts 8 of 10 teams into the playoffs, I agree with you that more tournament expansion would almost invalidate the season. That's too many games just for seeding, imo. This is why I hope the tournament doesn’t expand anymore or if it does limit the P5 teams. The bubble is so weak any worse would mean the regular season doesn’t matter at all to get in.
Lunardi must hate us or at least enjoy screwing with our fans - putting us as a 9 against 8 Arkansas and then against 1 Houston. Aargh.Jerry Palm has us as a #10 seed playing #7 Creighton in his latest update, with the winner playing Texas. I could live with that. Could have also played #7 Kentucky in the battle of underachieving teams.

Edit: Lunardi is screwing us, though. Giving us a #9 seed against Arkansas with the winner playing Houston. Feels so weird to be rooting for a lower seed, lol.

While I don't disagree with all the analytics, I am not sure I can stomach a Bruce Pearl loss to end this season.
Those awful urban professionals…If we get matched up with Creighton, we better kick their butts. They have an insufferable fanbase and i want to wear my swag around town without being accosted by a bunch of yuppies that watch basketball once every two months.
Lunardi's brackets are a joke. See my earlier post for much better sources.Lunardi must hate us or at least enjoy screwing with our fans - putting us as a 9 against 8 Arkansas and then against 1 Houston. Aargh.
We'd probably beat them by 30 in the 7/10 game and then lose to some 15 seed that pulled a 1st round upset by 20i hope we don’t play kentucky first round
But only after being overheard singing the SportsCenter theme in the locker roomWe'd probably beat them by 30 in the 7/10 game and then lose to some 15 seed that pulled a 1st round upset by 20
