I think the biggest think we need to see happen in this tourney is the twins hitting 3 pointers.
IMO this is the main issue that has lots of symptoms.
1. the big men guarding them can stay closer to the paint and gobble up rebounds limiting our ORB
2. more defensive and bigger players on keaton leading to decreased efficiency
3. obviously this hurts our 3 point shooting numbers and more empty possessions

IMO, just play it safe and lock up at least a 2seed. As long as we beat Wisconsin — and the teams outside of Houston, FLA, MSU lose (ISU, Purdue, Nebraska, etc) — we’re pretty well slotted for that 2 line.

I’d prefer MSU to come out of the bottom portion of the BIG bracket, and quite frankly, they’re the best team out of that grouping.

The team that I am most rooting against right now is Iowa State.

Truly. I think any season where we're getting into the meat of the schedule and at some point realistically talking about a FF or NC level team is a very good year. I think the last couple weeks have shown some weaknesses and lowered expectations, but there's still a lot to like about the team heading into the tournaments.

What’s the reasoning that Saint Louis would get put in Saint Louis?

I’ve seen multiple sources saying the committee will push for that. Other than making the ncaa more money what’s the purpose? Feels undermining to give a 10 seed essentially a home game.

Broader question: Who exactly gets to pick their location? I was always under the impression only 1 seeds could.

Everyone trying to save on travel costs, especially with how expensive travel is these days. Nobody gets to pick their location, but they will make a modicum of effort to get teams to nearby locations while maintaining competitive balance.

And that goes for any team, at any seed line? I’ve never heard of that before that’s interesting.

Jumping back and forth a bit here but I read a transcript of Dusty May saying they wanted to choose Philly as their first round destination. So is he just blowing smoke?

Drexel has a couple of solid players he's hoping to have an opportunity to tamper with while he's in town.

As said several times this week, the #1 overall seed can choose their region and pod. Everyone else is assigned according to geographical proximity and competitive balance.

While being in San Jose wouldn't be ideal, I'd still take that bracket all day.

Santa Clara beat Saint Mary's last night, putting them in position for a 3rd bid out of the WCC.

Also, 5 bids up for grabs tonight, including the WCC, Horizon, MAAC, CAA and NEC.

It's extra weird because the entire conference is going away this year, and Utah Valley is not the only school leaving.

Agreed. It looks like it is just money placed in court escrow until court proceedings can play out. There is a chance that they would get money back on the merits of the league folding. Seems like a foolish way to squander an opportunity at making the tourney, when you are likely favored to win.

If we happen to not get placed at St. Louis, is there a second spot that is most favorable or likely? Just looking to scoop up tix at most likely Illini spots.
