I don't like to see Doug inactive. He had a really dumb penalty last week when he failed to report as an eligeable receiver before a play that they scored a TD on and it cost them 4 points. He might have seen his last playing time but I hope not.
I'd think at least part of the reason for Kramer being inactive is both Tevin Jenkins and Braxton Jones being healthy.

They did nothing to mess up their draft position
With the Bears likely to lose their last two, I think the same for the Panthers, the Jets may have a chance against the Dolphins, which could move the Bears up a spot to 8. Regarding all of the 3-11 teams (5), a win or 2 could help the Bears to move up.

Braxton Jones is done for the season with a fractured ankle.

All one can say at this point is that the Bears are making one strong effort to prove that they are the worst run franchise in Chicago – even more so than the White Sox.

How about a Christmas wish for any person who is both a Bears and White Sox fan? That we all live long enough to see both franchises actually in the hands who people who have a clue about what they are doing. And maybe even one day compete for championships.

For some sports franchises (and College programs) – success is expected.

For others, success would be a Christmas Miracle.

As a famous television broadcaster said many years ago...

‘DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES?!’

Because right now... All is Not Calm... and All is Not Bright... and there is No Peace on the Chicago Sports scene.

Where would the Bears be if the NFL didn't strive for parity?

Why is it that the Bears always have a quarterback issue and the Packers never do? One Trib writer suggested the "Monsters of the Midway" should play the backup qb the rest of another lost season.

I think one very big reason - and likely the biggest reason - is the Packers have picked their QB of the future well before it was needed. In the case of both Rodgers and Love, they were picked while the established starter was still very effective. Both were able to develop in a backup role for a few years, then Packers management was ruthless in moving on from the previous QB (Favre and Rodgers) to the new QB (Rodgers and Love).

Contrast that to teams that have been bad, picked a QB high, and then they expect that QB to play right away to justify the investment. It becomes a real crap shoot after that. Sometimes, it works (Burrow, Daniels). Sometimes, it doesn't (Young, Williams, Richardson).

This makes sense.

I think Williams will be fine if we get a real coach and some talent around him.
The talent around him needs to be the O-line. When he sees an open man he needs to throw the ball to him, leading him away from the defender, but not so far that the receiver can't get to it. Dancing in the backfield isn't good for anyone except the defense.

If he can't learn to get rid of the ball to a receiver, by all means bring in the backup.

I am in the StL area and was a big Rams fan until Stan lied his way out of town. I haven't watched much NFL since. But if I was an NFL GM and I used a 1st round pick on a QB the first thing I'd do is surround the guy with as much offensive talent as I could get. If I had to cut or trade a couple of good defenders to get it done that's what I'd do. Fix the D once your prize QB gets established. Handing a young QB a crappy offense seems stupid to me.

Carroll is pretty old to be coaching football. You have to be sharp for that. He should go into politics, he could have a good 20 years. He could be president supreme court justice, senator, or representative. Heck, he would be one of the younger guys!
True though he's got a lot more energy than most coaches his age do. One strike against him is that he recommended Waldron to the Bears.
