Friends of the Parks lost me with their opposition to the Lucas Museum. The Michael Reese site is even harder to get to via transit and more isolated than Soldier Field. Many of the advantages of being in the City are lost with that site. It is going to be really hard to argue about park space preservation after what the City allowed to occur with the Obama Library by taking a large swath of actual park space instead of just a parking lot like the Bears want.Friends of the Park did put out a lengthy statement in response to the news about the Bears wanting to build a new stadium on the lakefront. One suggestion they made for where the new stadium could be put would be on the site of the former Michael Reese hospital.
