Run, Javy, run!
Run, Javy, run!
With Contreras' injury yesterday, the Cubs are going to be in for a battle with the Cardinals and Brewers 1.5 games back and the Pirtates only 3.5.
It really makes me grateful for the lack of injuries they faces during the 2016 season, with the lone major exception of Schwarber.
I wonder if David Ross is available?
I'm not sure he'd leave his internship position for this...
Sometimes fun. Sometimes excruciating.Baez is so fun to watch. He missed a low and away slider by a foot on one pitch. And then destroyed a hanging breaking ball 460+ feet on the very next pitch.
Ten seconds before he hit that home run, I was wondering how he ever gets the bat on the ball.
The 7th inning wasn't so hot either.[ W ] #63
The dreaded 8th inning strikes again, however.
Lester with a beautiful 1st and disastrous 2nd. Leaves with the trainer after giving up 8.
At least the wind is blowing out.
Happ, Bryant, Avila, Happ with home runs of former Cub legend Scott Feldman.
9-0 is now 9-5
Schwarber!
9-7.
Now it's just a matter of which team's bullpen is worse.
Justin Grimm has set the bar with 2 runs.
I've really questioned Maddon's decision-making these past few weeks.
Yup, he has done the same thing recently with Carl Edwards Jr. when he was CLEARLY struggling. Don't bring these arms into the game in high leverage situations if you don't have to! I would rather see him think outside the box and bring Wade Davis in than let Grimm/Edwards take over in a tie ballgame late.
